Excellent stuff Johnny! I have a later model which has different ignition control module (igniter as you call it) and it was a bitch to reach even with the front right wheel off and fender liner detached. Great tips and tricks Johnny. Thanks - Oh and I have a wiring diagram for the igniter etc if you still want it @Johnny5ive
"The first generation Isuzu Trooper was introduced in Japan for the 1981 model year. Offered with a variety of engine and transmission options, the Trooper was also offered in numerous body styles: a two-door soft top utility roadster model, a 3-door long wheelbase model, a 3-door short wheelbase model, and a 5-door long wheelbase model. Isuzu changed the front grille and headlights from round to rectangular in 1987, and introduced a premium LS trim for the 5-door LWB models that added cruise control, automatic windows, folding seats, and other upgrades. The Trooper was upgraded to disc brakes at all four wheels for the 1988 model year. The first generation Trooper was sold in the US from 1984-1991. It was available in 3 and 5-door LWB configurations from 1984-1986. The 3-door LWB configuration was dropped in 1987, with the 5-door LWB continuing through the end of 1991 production. For the 1989 model year only, the US got a limited production run of 3-door SWB models, called the Trooper RS. It's reported that fewer than 800 RS's were imported for 1989."
Will the air conditioner work? Also was there any issues with not capping off the fuel pressure regulator? I notice that there's not a vacuum hose going to the top of it in your video when done.
Hello, I watched your channel before. I have a 2002 Isuzu Trooper V6 3.5 4 x 4. I’m desperately trying to find a transmission wire harness front to back. The front three plugs have to have a black blue and green wire that plug-in by the radiator. Would you have any suggestions? Wayne
I hear on the Isuzu trooper mafia group a lot of people say you can do it through the wheel well I just tried the other day it seems about impossible I guess I’m gonna have to follow your video and do it like this what a flipping pain in the ass I also heard there’s some ways to delete it or route them other ways that not recommended?
Hello, sorry if anyone has this information. I have a 2.6L isuzu friend and I changed the cylinder head or head of a 2.3 and the gasket blew, what should I do to prevent it from happening again, just change the 2.3 head, the rest is from the 2.6 in my region it is easier to get the 2.3
Hi John,I've used this video after replacing the head my question is the distributor position should I have it pointing to number 4 and then use a timing light off number 1 ,I've tried this for 3 days won't start what am in missing cheers
I need to fix the be coolant hoses under the intake Do I have to take the intake off !? I really don’t need a huge job to replace that darn hose. That now is leaking big time since I added a thermostat. It was running fine without one lol
A scraper or razor blade to clean engine deck won't de-burr the mating surfaces. Rounding water jackets and surfaces here isnt good. Can lead to blown head gaskets.
Got a question I'm in the process of rebuilding a 90 isuzu trooper. And eventually I'm swaping the 3.2dohc. But until I can get the rest of the stuff needed. I'd like to make this run better. How do you delete the air pump shit. Don't need it where I live.
Where are you located? I have a CLEAN 01 75k miles auto i want to swap. Been sitting in my yard for 5 years. I daily my 02 5 speed Trooper 220k running great. East coast MD
I'm looking for a replacement speedometer gear for a 1986 Trooper. Any help or insight would be great. The speedo works when I attach a drill to the cable so I'm assuming that the trans speedo gear is bad.
which way should the cam lobes face when on TDC..... i have after market cam pulley which the previous mechanic made 2 marks on it 180 degrees apart..... cant find repair manual to check the cam lobe positions
