You guys should build a proper Cricket stadium ,and it will be a landmark for you guys ,most people in the usa have no idea what the cricket is all about , it will boost the economy at local level and national level
It's not North Alabama upsetting Alabama in CF, it's North Alabama beating the Detroit Lions or the Dallas Cowboys. That's how utterly *ridiculous* that achievement was. What a shame that ESPN and Greeny and everybody else who make noise in US sports don't even know what happened.
I watched the Miracle on Ice live on TV, and I saw App State beat Michigan and I saw Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson and a thousand other upsets in practically every sport in the world. I grew up in India watching cricket, and have watched US sports since the 80s. As a hard-core sports fan in the US and Asia, I'm able to say that the upset of Pakistan by USA is the single greatest upset in the history of sports.
You trashed the WBC, saying it was a meaningless win when Edwin Diaz went down after a win over the DR, while claiming Japan has no professional baseball (you think the tens of millions watching were Chinese?). And saying growing international baseball should be rested on amateur ranks? That gatekeeping mentality was what held baseball back in worldwide popularity for the last century. It killed the craze for the game in Britain, it got baseball in the rest of Europe on life support. Since there was no serious money to be made facing what-you-know-aren't-the-best for your country, and progress depended on the whim of the IOC, no one in Europe or non-far-east Asia cared about the game, the few local pro leagues couldn't take off, the amateurs stayed on life support or squandered, and almost no money could be made to invest in spreading the game further. And you now brag about "making baseball global", after you dissed its very own effort of the World Cup without apparent conflict of interest to the pros? Hypocritical ass.
@@khaikhuc1432 the main reason for that is cricket is more of an international game than a franchise game like baseball is majorly in america. franchise cricket is just starting to catch on with the ipl gaining even more popularity
Actually, T20 cricket is like 2 decades old and is pretty much the most frequently played format in current times. It was not "made for the American audience", but it is something that the American audience will be more comfortable with. Also, I am not surprised Pakistan lost, their team is going through a horrid phase right now and they eventually came crashing down against USA.
Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems a Test match is like a 3 or 4 game series in baseball, but with way longer length, you can end the day with a tie and results being aggregate?
@@khaikhuc1432 an innings in cricket lasts way longer than in baseball... Just like baseball has 9 innings... A test match has 4...Each team bats twice... And the one with the most number of runs wins... Theoretically test matches can last forever because the number of overs to be bowled are unlimited in theory... You bowl as long as you get the opponent all out...... (In some cases though when the batting team feels they have got enough runs, they may "declare" their innings that is they are not all out, but they feel they have a huge number of runs on board and they are asking the other team to bat)....Coming back... The main thing about test matches is the overs are unlimited... But nobody really can wait for more than five days... So if there is no definitive result after 5 days... The game is declared a draw... It seems boring but think of this... Your team is batting on Day 5 with 129 for 9 wickets down... You need 250 more runs... Which you cant possibly chase with one wicket in hand... The opponent is bowling to win... So you play defensively until the day is over and the game is a draw... You have, in this case, not won, but you DENIED the opposition a certain victory... This is why a draw match can be very exciting... You can win the next match and win the say 2 test match series 1-0...because you SAVED the first game from a defeat.
There are test matches called " timeless tests" where games can last for more than 5 days... They used to be played in the 1940s especially in Australia... You can find records of games going on for 8-9 days even...In these games, there are no draws.... Nowadays however tests last a maximum of 5 days..But they may be completed even in 2 days if all the innings are played..... Hope this clears it up😅
Fun stuff: If the US qualifies for the next round (which it probably will at this point, instead of Pakistan), they also qualifies automatically for the next T20 world cup!
Oh no. Clark is the most popular player, therefore she must be on the Olympic team! Popularity is the best criteria for selecting the team. Which is why Taylor Swift definitely needs to be the 12th player on the team. Imagine how many fans she would bring to the games!
Glad you made this video. Can’t believe this has gone under the radar. If the USA qualify to the next round of the World Cup over Pakistan, it will be HUGE for the sport. Congrats Team USA
no one would expect CC to play entire games. 2 or 3 minutes a game would be fine' save her for the rest of the season. fan's are NOT stupid. she drop's a couple of bomb's then sit. done.
If you have a better guard, that's fine. If you don't, it's the arrogance of morons, damaging the tournament and hopefully coming back to haunt you in the form of defeat.
NBC HAS JUST ANNOUNCED A CHANGE IN THEIR 2024 OLYMPICS COVERAGE: THE USA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAMES HAVE BEEN MOVED FROM PRIME-TIME ON NBC TO 4:00AM ON PEACOCK3+. Some pundits claim Caitlen Clark was not "snubbed" by the Olympic committee. Perhaps they're right. But 20 million Caitlen Clark fans certainly were! (And does anyone think the 42 year-old Taurasi is still one of the best 12 players? Putting her on the team just so she can win a sixth gold medal actually cheapens her GOAT legacy. They should make her the honorary captain and open a spot for a young, upcoming star.)
The olympics is not about growing your country sport...its about national pride...the problem is you guys ARE NOT basketball fans or even SPORTS fans...you dont know how the game works...people barely watch the mens teams...its never been about that,in some countries that host?come on at crazy times American arent up for anyways...CASUALS dont understand how basketball works...Arike is a beast..a BEAST and she got LEFT OFF
Fot them lto take this experiiecne away from her, also numerous people from other coutries were curious about her, now they will not be tuning in. Personally, I feel all the relevant rookies should be on this team. Brink, Reese, caitlin, etc. They are the current face or your league and this would be a smart marketing move.
I now understand why my friend cannot support this league. I cant either. This is the face of your league whether your racist's azz likes it or not, it is obvious to me they do not want to grow their league and are content with their little llesbo welfare club. Taking handouts from the NBA.
NBC has to be ticked. nobody is going to watch. How do you even prove this. This is arrogance and is basically calling her fans idiots who should be in insane asylums. I am not articulating just how smug and racists this is. This is an evil group of people running this. Incompetent people who got DEI postions this is what happens
Imagine losing millions on ratings and jersey sales lmfao . U cant make this up how dumb they are. Her USA jersey would have broke all time sales records on planet earth. Somebody is definitely in trouble for this mishap and i bet they will backtrack and add her to roster. Nobody wants to watch 50 year old lady Taurasi . She should give uo her spot
I'm not sure CC's stats warrant it, but her star power warrants it. Brittney Griner is the one I'm not in agreement with. Her stats are not that good. There are other players better stat wise, including Angel Reese.
