Hello, welcome to my channel! I really enjoying making stuff, doing stuff, eating stuff and drinking stuff. I'll be doing DIY, Woodworking, Gardening, BBQing and also drinking the occasional beer after a hard days work! I will turn my hand to almost anything and just enjoy the process of learning and doing things. Hope you enjoy the videos!
I probably would have made the mix a bit firmer to help with the setup time. And probably fixed the beading with render. And if I was better I guess I could have got it smoother. Overall well pleased and no cracks 2 years on.
Unfortunately I don't have a cutting list for them. I knocked them up in google sketch up and wrote my cut list on a bit of paper so it doesn't exist electronically.
Yes I would just attach horizontal battens to fence posts. The only this tou would need to consider is the lining would be visible on the other side if no wall
Where my slabs haven't moved it has held up well. Some of my slabs have become wobbly in the past 2 years so have dislodged the pointing but I'm not putting that down to the product.
There's a Temu version of this tool that looks similar, it's twice the price and has excellent reviews from other RU-vidrs. It actually looked like a solid product and it worked pretty well.
thank you so much for sharing your experience. has given me the confidence to give it a go. massive respect to people who "give stuff a go" and share their learnings along the way. have subscribed!
the reason why the drill chuck falls of is because its suposed to be locked in place from the top with a different bolt than the one you have, bought mine from temu and it works fine although its not the best drill stand out there.
I was looking at this same drill guid on temu and I was wondering how bad this thing really was. Some of the photos actually show a woodpecker drill guide. It's a ripoff if I've ever seen one.
Hi with this render, can I check if there has been any cracking or peeling anywhere 2 years later? Also I have got red brick external wall - will this work and do I need to prep the surface before or just put on this one coat tarmac render ? Thanks
Phew, just about bought the same one haha. Good real review! Just some constructive criticism, would be nice for the audio to be uniform in your videos. Goes from soft voiceovers to loud front of camera audio. Nasty when wearing earphones and it would be a simple fix in post-production. Just a small thing to up the quality and viewing experience! Nonetheless, very informative!
Great way to do this without over complicating things. What length screws are you using to fix the 2x2 together? I was thinking 4" ones, but that may be a bit over the top. Do you use decking or stainless ones for rotproofing, or just the standard zinc plated ones?
I'm sorry I didn't watch your video before I bought. Woodpeckers AutoLine is probably good, but this cheap Chinese crap isn't worth the money - mine is in the bin☹I bought a UJK Boreguide instead
Dude totally winged this which I loved... Nice Ito say someone doing as they go, so to speak. Often get board with the trimmed and over prepared reviews, so well done!
Against my gut instinct, I used Sika FastFix on my limestone flags.... I've done many re-grouting jobs and this was on my own house so I was super careful. Cleaned out old grout and brushed this stuff in and pressed it in with pointing tool... 6 months later it fails the "key-test" miserable (like wet sand when scraped with a key)... Never again
Matt, this is so helpful. I just bought the same product and thinking I should hire a gardener. With this video, I believe I could do it myself. I am 67 year old fit female.
This style of guides are ergonomically terrible. You need to press firmly on the base with one hand, then you need to raise your other arm pretty high to push down with force the drill while keep the motion vertical. Is not easy unless you have a big wingspan. There is some little play so you better push down vertically very smoothly else it won't be really straight.
