This was first unveiled to viewers on 31 October 1980, which was the day 21 years of Ulster Television was celebrated. UTV broadcast a live celebration gala from the Grand Opera House, Belfast, that evening. As a 12 year old at the time, I can't say it appealed much to me, but it was quite a feat for a small ITV to mount such an event - especially in that era in rhe centre of Belfast.
Just remade this ident. I have replaced the revolving cube with a picture of the Prague television tower which I photographed on holiday.ru-vid.comSPJSaHao-QY?feature=share
that is after 1972. This is what it would show btw 1970 ( start of color broadcast) and 1972 ( When ITA became IBA and it would show the transmitter info)
@@allaround3536The ITA “Transmitters in Service” slide was not used until late 1971 and carried on when the Independent Television Authority because the Independent Broadcasting Authority in mid-1972.
Absolutely lovely. My favourite UTV ident, with or without the 25th anniversary logo. I wasn't born until '91 but the simple little tune for this puts me at ease every time.
