Hey Ian! really enjoy your videos on all kinds of control surfaces! I would like to support your work and be able to use your Icon P series script for fl studio!
@@ianwalker2258 It was a nice piece of Eye Candy but truth be told. I just wasn't using it as much as I use to. It was the last of the trio standing after selling the Mackie Control Pro and Extender Pro some years ago. Everything on it was perfect condition. Now I'm left with what to put in its place on the desktop monitor arm it was attached to. I had it listed in marketplace for quite awhile with no domestic interest in it. Only foreigners/scammers nibbled at it.
For the color, there is a option to turn off Adaptive Color or something? I forgot the title, it works similar to True Tone on Apple devices and once you disable that the colors would look the same in my opinion.
I really appreciate your scripting work! especially with these colors, it would make it a lot easier to identify tracks quickly. Is there a way to obtain your script?
Its actually on the video (along the top row) but is quite difficult to read depending on what you are using to play the video back and how RU-vid encodes it (but I am reading out the % processing use as it changes during the dynamics of this demo song)
@@djbenouf My choice from those two would be the V1M - Sure, it isn't perfect (yet) but the faderport 16 is quite old now and Presonus have never done anything to support FL Studio save their basic Mackie support (which is not the best IMO)
Hey ian I want video edit and I use Devanshi resolve and Premier pro too I’m confused between buying a Apple M3 chip with 8‑core CPU, 10‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine And Apple M2 Pro with 10‑core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16‑core Neural Please help me 😅
@@ianwalker2258 Sería genial que realizaras un video que como controlar de forma remota FL Studio para ser mezclar en vivo con el.. ( sin usar el remote control de fabrica)
@@SenecaGiles Unfortunately yes, they are specific to FL Studio though there is no technical reason why the same functionality could be had by any DAW including Ableton.
BCF and BCR controllers are legendary. The fact they still work without issues (for me at least), especially as I got them in 2005, is pretty amazing. These are great controllers if you can get them in good condition. They are well built and have served me well. I have no reason to upgrade unless they stop working. They are still great value on the used market, and probably one of the very few pieces of hardware which can increase your workflow when working with audio.
Great video! I really want to switch to pc from Mac. Thanks for making this video so quickly! Hopefully companies will optimize their apps for windows on arm shortly!
Phil Collins used this on some songs from his second album Hello I Must Be Going, notably “Do You Know Do You Care”. I’m so glad a VST exists for this.

mmm interesting.... now the two are at the same price in my country, maybe the Air makes more sense at the same price.
@@ianwalker2258 thanks so much for your reply. I did have a look on their website and there is no mention of Luna but on UAD it mentions that it is compatible controllers, so I just wanted to see if a fellow user could confirm if there was in fact a preset. Once again thank you.
@@ianwalker2258 thank you so much for confirming, that’s great! I think it’s look probable that I will now most likely get one. Thanks for your helpful video’s too.
@@kilhbffvc7011 24% of processor performance used is image-lines own metric that is specific to FL Studio and aimed at users of this DAW (who are looking at how a Laptop might perform in this specific scenario rather than an overall / generic. Benchmark which is my understanding g of what cinebench and other metrics attempt to provide).
Hi Ian, i bet you made a tremendous job with this! i am using FL 20.8 with macos 14.6 mojave. Ive followed all the steps, but the FL crashed when i try to select the mcue controller, in the midsi settings. Do you have an idea of what is happening? thank you very much
@@ianwalker2258 thank you. So this script runs ok for windows and not for macos, is that correct? should I try with a newer macos like M2 sonoma? thank you
@@EnriqueBenasso I'm sorry, I don't know what the status is with the Mac but there is presently an issue with the base Mackie driver from Image-Line that this is based on so it needs looking at before it will run properly.
Hi, You have a fundamental flaw in your test. It's not possible to compare the performance of two devices by only examining the CPU graph of FL Studio. The relationship is not linear, as X% = Track/Process. This is a mistake Nick Batt from Sonic State also made with the first M1. To correctly test performance and obtain meaningful data about each device, you need to follow the established method for testing DAW CPU performance. Create a project with the same track and commonly used processing, then multiply it until the sound crackles on each machine. Ensure the audio buffer is the same on all systems. The issue with your current testing method is that (one example) doubling all the tracks in a project does not necessarily double the CPU resources needed to run it on all machines, so it's not an accurate indication of the true performance each machine is capable of. There are many reasons why this kind of test is flawed. I know it may not be easy to accept after all the hard work you put into it, but I would advise you to check out "Scan Audio's" testing methodology based on DAWbench (no FL studio but the The principal is the same) Again, I appreciate the work and effort you put into it, especially the testing of such unique devices.
For sure, this is not meant to be a scientific test but just a "gauge" to aid comparison of devices performance when the primary use case is "FL Studio" .
@@ianwalker2258 Thank you for your reply. I understand your point, but I still think you should strive to create tests that are trully beneficial to others. The way you are conducting the test now is misleading, and I do not consider it a reliable "gauge." Again, multitasking processing is not necessarily linear. Let's say the CPU graph of FL Studio shows 25% on one computer and also 25% on another. From your test, it would seem that both machines have equal processing power with FL Studio. Now, let's double the channel count in the project. It's possible that the FL Studio graph on computer 1 will show 50% and on computer 2 only 35%. However, if you push the channel count to the limit, you will see that computer 2 has more than double the processing power. Maybe In addition to the tests you are already conducting, consider adding this kind of test, like DAWbench but for FL studio. It will not require much extra work and will provide results that truly reflect the capabilities of each machine. If you do this, I promise to subscribe to your channel and recommend it to others.
Its 24H2 as well - obviously the ARM version emulating an x86. If you are using a Mac I would advise downloading the MAC O/S version of FLStudio from the Image-Line site
Many thanks for your tests of music making using the SQ3. They have given me the confidence to try Windows on Arm. I want to start with a S/H SQ3 to see how I get on before investing in a new SP11.
I was surprised how good the SQ3 chip is for FL Studio - its very near to being as good as the latest Snapdragon X Elite model and I can see a lot of people snapping these up on the secondhand market!
It will be very interesting to see how developers respond to the new Elite models with new ARM versions of apps and drivers that can hopefully also be used on SQ1, SQ2 and SQ3 machines.Exciting times ahead! Looking forward to more videos by yourself. I haven't found anyone else currently covering music making on ARM. 😊
Would you be able to test a small piece of Software called IDM (Internet Download manager). it is in my view the best Downloader period. but it's x86 only
Great video, happy to see snapdragon x elite can run fl studio. Looking for arm pc can run blender/ photoshop/ davanci resolve/ fl studio with av1 encoder
