so! my mom taught me to crochet when i was about 7, and ive been doing it for years, and one of my teachers had a mom who used to knit and crochet. and had a half finish project before she passed away, so my teacher wants to relearn how to crochet/ knit, but the original pattern she sent me is knitting, so im trying to knit and this video is really helpful!! thank you so much!!
@@mamainastitch literally the first time I tried knitting I (about a year ago now) I ended up crying coz I used metal needles, which I now know are more slippery compared to the wooden needles. And funny thing is, that if the pattern my teacher sent me was crocheting I would have probably never picked up a knitting needle again. But I was determined to do this, because I’m also really close to my mom, so I wanted to do this for her, so far I’m doing good :) I only messed up a little bit on my first attempt at the pattern because I spaced out and just kept doing the same stitch for a few rows. But as I say for all my art, it’s a new characteristic of this particular piece

Looks lovely and peaceful. I've feel like I have to keep my yarn in plastic bins because I've seen moths around my house. Does anyone else have to hide their yarn away due to months? It's so disappointing.
@@andreacohen2069 I had to put mine in plastic containers after I found that mice had been using my yarn for their nests! We had just moved to the countryside in VA, and we have lots of trees and shrubs around our property. Those little creatures found their way into our finished basement and made themselves at home 😟🐭🧶

@skootagal I think I used around 30 cakes of Bernat blanket ombre 220yd per cake. It's the big chenille type, but kind of el cheapo chenille. I'm not remembering the exact number of cakes I used, but I guesstimate around 30. I know for sure that I used 8 skeins of bernat big ball blanket (220yds) for a normal size throw blanket. I followed your instruction and you repeated row 2 with only 3 double crochet but in the picture of the one you made shows 4 double crochet in between, what am I missing?
My only question: is it really worth trying? 😂 Haha, I'm very content in crochet land and afraid that struggling with knit will mess up my stride... 😂 Great video. Someone tried to teach me knitting once, and I don't know who failed worse, her or me 😂
i mainly wanted to learn because knitting only uses up two thirds of the yarn that crochet does, and the fabric is less thick and stiff.. but the hand motions of crocheting are more enjoyable for me
