Our Story It all started in 2002 with a few too many beers, a drawing on a napkin and a crazy bet. 4 friends divided in two pairs decided to go through the Stockholm archipelago. The bet? To run and swim from island to island and the last pair to arrive in Sandhamn would be paying for everyone’s hotel, dinner and drinks. The challenge took them over 26 hours to accomplish.
When Michael Lemmel and Mats Skott heard about the crazy bet in late 2005, they decided to make a race out of it. They called it Ö TILL Ö, island to island in Swedish. When its first official version went off in September of 2006, no one had clue they were about to start a worldwide movement. It is now the Swimrun World Championship.
The race became mythical quite fast, in 2012 recognized by CNN as one of the toughest races in the World, ÖTILLÖ had become a legend.
Today, the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series organizes races in Sweden, England, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Malta and the USA.
Magnificent work Rasmus, you are going out on top. You will be missed and the impact you had on swimrun will live on for years to come. Desiree truly is the 👑 of swimrun.
43 minutes. @rasmus. I knew that you are awesome, but doing a whole movie out of it, is just great. Swimrun media is so much more due to Rasmus, Otto and their colleagues. Tack so mucket 🤘🙏😎
May I ask that information is not only put on Facebook? I tried to set up a Facebook account but was locked out of Facebook as I don't wish to upload a personal photo onto Facebook and they say they need this for 'security'.
