Good job mate. Looks like a blast. Nice to see some greenery in the surrounding paddocks, too. I was really digging that beep beep boop boop song you had playing. A banger for sure! 😂
Very well edited Diego. I don't know if I would have been too comfortable with that wing tipping bump on my first thermal. Great editing mate . Looks awesome up there.
Looking good Diego . I am trying out Bunbury back beach ridge for the first time and having some success. All these types of clips really help with techniques.
it's very different from hill launch. I'm lucky to be flying with Rob shaun and Brad that are very experienced pilots that fly coastal a lot so I've been picking up a lot of tricks.
Shelly is a bigger hill about 320ft so about 3x as big as any of those hills in Gero. 12kts plus generate a lot of lift there. I got up to 1200ft. it's such an amazing place to fly!
I remember flying here in about '95, lift band was so outrageous it was so hard to get down. We ended up going further and further out to sea just to be able to spiral down and then b-line to the beach. Took a few attempts getting lower each time before making for the beach without getting caught in lift again. It was a memorable flight and satisfying beer after.
The guys were telling us all about that...the windier it is the harder to get down. Luckily when we were flying there the wind was just around 15 kts...we still had to pull the bar in a bit to get down. such a beautiful place! ill definitely be flying there again around Christmas time this year. 👍
Its an incredible place! We saw dolphins this time while in the air...the experienced guys said they often see whales very close to shore as well. i will certainly go back!
