As a german person, I do like the german one best and the english one just never got me. French tho, I didn't know the snake aspect of smaug could be nailed any better then the german one but wow. Just wow. This is a whole new level of mean, incredibly intelligent and charming.
Im German, i think, If they Put a bit english and German together, its a perfect voice for him. German for deep Sounds and english for the others. France is not my choice.
@@aaronkay143 fair enough, they are pretty big world wide but I swear in Germany they are just another band by this point. If you're into rock or metal I'd say give em a shot.
I think french would be perfectly for a big snake, just because of the language with the many "s". But I think it sounds too charming and soft for smaug. The speaker is good as hell btw.
I think real evil appeals to you more than it scares you in the first place. But it is also true that the German version has a guttural side which is similar to the Dragons for example.
I loved German the most, oh my Smaug. At so many points, he sounds amazing. When he says "glaubst du, Schmeicheleien werden dein Leben retten?", that little rise in his intonation is so perfectly executed; it makes him sound menacingly amused at Bilbo's fear and desperation. When he says "meinen Namen scheinst du zu kennen," he sounds almost haughtily pleased at knowing his reputation precedes him. And that part where he says "Was sonst behauptest du zu sein?" just sounds so sinister. He says "für einen Dieb, und einen _LÜGNER!!"_ with a heavy breathing sound at the end, almost like he's hissing while saying it. Plus, he sounds perfectly enraged when he screams out "RACHE" and holds that hard "ch" sound, making it even more intense, like "RACCCCCCHHHHHHE, RACCCHHHHHE, ICH ZEIGE EUCH WAS RACCCHHHHE IST!"
Yes I really like the German version too. Smaug sounds so confident and almost Playful with Bilbo because he knows( or thinks to know) that there is no point in running away or fighting. Just like a cat playing with his food. And he nails that sound perfectly in my opinion.
I'm sorry, I'll admit, maybe I'm biased because I'm German, but I can't resist Sascha Rotermund. 💓😂 But that french dub - incredible! Not a big fan of Cumberbatch's performance.
@@SirKolass personal opinions bro For me German English French But all of them act him in a different way but all in a good way. It's just personal preference in the end
English nails the role of the old and mystic dragon that Smaug is. Meanwhile German displays the intimidating and psychotic aspects of the dragon and French just sounds so beautifully smooth and charmingly fascinating. Every synchronisation just fits the character so well. I love all of them.
@@aaronkay143 ist mir bewusst ich habe kein Problem damit ich frage nur warum er/sie das eher nicht so gerne mag ich finde zum Beispiel bei dem Film Death Note finde ich die Englische stimme besser von Ryuk
