I've mashed up 1/2 of a banana with about 3 Tablespoons of sugar, 3 drops of banana extract, 3 drops of apple cider vinegar, 5 drops of apple juice and one drop of PetArmor Plus for dogs. This is placed on a ceramic saucer, on a stand meant for plants, to keep our squirrels or hummingbirds from sampling it. The bait is being taken by quite a few Bald Faced Hornets. They're fighting over it.
This video was done by the previous owner so I really can't give a response to that. I have never had a issue with yellow jackets and I personally run 150 hives at the moment.
It would work for me cause yellow jackets like to make their nests in my porch on the ceiling and the tops of windows, always having to spray them with soapy water.

Try using Murder Sauce, and your Swiffer sheets will be empty. It's amazing and cheap to make. Crisco, DE, and a few drops of Eucalyptus oil. I've gone 2 years now with NO hive beetles in any of my hives. Look it up. It will change your world.
I will. I think I am going to build another one soon. I have some ideas I would like to try and the one I have now was just thrown together using scrap to do a test run. I have decided this thing is priceless. After doing the boiling method the first couple of years the solar method frees up my time and I get a cleaner product faster without doing anything.

I ordered them because I use them for my wax as well. I carry one when I inspect and put my burr comb in and then drop it off in my wax melter and it comes out super clean and I don't have hours heating up wax on the stove and having to filter it 4 or 5 times. I think you could get a paint filter to do the same thing from Lowe's.

My Grandfather had 209 stands of hives back in the 1960’s and he had to place barbed wire around his bee yard with 240 volts powered fence around them to keep the bear out : it was 40 feet behind his house .; it worked very well to get the bear “outa there “ !!😂
This was Sunday night and I have been sitting with the 30.30 every night sense. Got a bunch of lights up and hopefully I can get the fence up this weekend. Lost around 180 lbs of honey on this hive
Well thank you. We did deep hive inspections on 150 hives last week. Girls look good. Pulled a few frames that gave us 100 lbs of honey and got it bottled and sold to our distributors that were out. Had to build some more equipment because I was about out and I had knee surgery Wed morning so I am almost back up and running. Going to check traps today and hopefully all of them are full.
