I speak Vietnamese where, based on your list, we seem to only have 4 colour words in common with Korean : we also employ those terms based on Chinese characters , but either the pronunciation or the semantics are different. We also have the word based on the Chinese character "色" , where it is pronounced "sắc" in Vietnamese : but for us, it's just the generic word for colour in general , and not the individual hues themselves. Our word for "green" is also from "绿" (lục) , and we have "青" (xanh) for the whole "blue-green" continuum. We also share the words for gold : 金 (Kim) and silver 银 (ngân) : and these also happen to be my maternal aunts' names!
This video is perfect. I was looking for a way to quiz myself but i can't figure out how to do a Korean keyboard on my computer. I loved how this video allows me an easier way of testing myself. Thank you!
Hi there, i chose this clip since its your newest. I found your internet page and YT channel and i like it very much! You have a great content about the korean language. :) My question is about a given name consisting of two syllables: In one method the syllabification is shown, in the other it isnt. For example: Gil-dong Gildong I usually like to show the syllabification at least one time for all names. A) Gildong [Gil-dong] B) Gil-dong=Gildong Which of these two ways (A or B) would you recommend to make it understandable for people who dont now much about the subject that Gildong is one name, and the version Gil-dong is only a syllabification? Best regards and go on with your great work!
