I was just changing the main jet but the whole piece came out including a part that was up in there I’m not sure which way it goes don’t want put it wrong way n messes up my performance
Does it look like the piece at 1:16 of the video, if so use the method in the video on how I took off the main jet, which is just a small piece that has a flat head slot that screws on to the piece on the wrench I’m holding
Good vid bro I was driving my boys 125cc apollo thing was revenge high all the time ordered the 17tooth and the inner diameter is too big I swear it said 17mm I alost rigged it up but that would've been bad I bet lol 24mm nibbi not the red black one 45 pilot 108 main thing was moving still have the break in oil in her royal purp 10w30 good vid I'm gonna make a channel
@@JamesOnWheels they always pop up cheap because people get them, leave the stock carb, which they don’t know how to work on, then they quit working, and they sit in a corner till they sell them lol. I should get one just to work on balance point and stuff since I’ve thrown too many thousands in go fast parts on the actual grom and I’d rather not oops that one. Problem is 8 out of 10 people in my area never get them titled and then lose the MCO paperwork. Idk. I’m rambling. Just trying to talk myself out of going on marketplace to buy one 😂
@@ghettosled1976 they best you can do is low ball cuz honestly if they are asking for 1500 used that’s a rip, I didn’t even pay for the much shipped to my door lol, I payed for mine 1200 brand new shipped, some people definitely don’t know how to work on carbs, but this bike definitely taught me a lot on how it it works, and of course RU-vid university 😝
@@JamesOnWheels do you happen to know where the speedo pickup is on these? Is it on the front tire, or the motor? Wondering if changing sprockets throws the speedo off like it does on a grom.
@@ghettosled1976 the speedo is on the left side of the front wheel, it’s like a black circle thing that acts like a spacer for your wheel and it has a black wire that goes up to the gauge cluster
Love how you are keeping real with showing the struggle with the muffle reducer tricking you, before you figured to remove it. :D BTW, looking at how you mounted the muffler band, did you drill a hole in the rear set?
No I didn’t drill into the rear set, the springs actually was so strong that it kept the exhaust from moving any direction, the muffler band screw is actually pushing on to the rear set, and that’s because the springs are keeping it from moving, I don’t know if I explained it right so you can get an image, but drilling into the rear set is not a bad idea haha
Nope i looked up what the grom specifications were and it’s between 35-40 but I haven’t had an issue, 1500 miles later and it’s still holding on Pretty good
The cutting of the chain guard is only needed when you change the chain to a larger diameter to allowed clearances of the chain you just removed with a bigger linkage to run freely on theses 125cc bikes. This is a 125cc bike, that same chain on the bike with a 17- front sprocket and same chain is more than willing to pull the extra torque. The installment of a 15 to 17 front Sprocket only needs adjustment in the rear wheel displacement.
@@billfish9553 not true cuz when I changed it out to a 17t, the first thing I noticed when I went out for a ride was the chain hitting the chain guard, which is why I had to cut it
But the 17t and 16t is night and day difference, the 16t gave me more torque going up hills at any gear, the 17t I had to down shift to 2nd just to get up the hill
Now I’m not gonna tell you not too, because if you don’t register there’s alot negative things you gotta think about, like when you get pulled over for example you have no paperwork to show, but when you register it it’s better for you, because you get a title which on paper says you now own the bike, which is good when you decide to sell it because it’s gonna be easier for you sell, that’s just some things to think about
so i just installed the same throttle and cable you have and im having trouble when sitting if i rev it , it bogs. never did that till i installed the new cable and throttle. also if i move the cable a certain way it fluctuates the rpm’s. any advice?
Make sure you see that the gear indicator actually shows a gear, if it doesn’t it means it’s gonna do a false neutral, it happens a lot with the stock gear shifter, I got myself an aftermarket off of Amazon for 10 dollar
@@Seeerton yeah you just gotta make sure there’s a number showing on the gear indicator, otherwise while your riding it will just drop a gear out of no where and it will catch you off guard, but yeah just make sure your actually in gear when your downshifting

I have watched almost all your grom clone videos and I wanna say thank you. You've helped me not only choose to buy one but also how to make it reliable
I've been looking for this video for 2 mos. I changed my jettings to 38 115 5.. Whenever I'try to do 1/4 throttle my just like what you did earlier in the video, it's loosing power.. Can you recommend some jettings please..
Hey how you doing man, so with the main jet I went with a 105 main jet I think the stock jetting that comes with these is a 98, and kept the pilot jet stock. But not every mikuni carb is the same so just go up in size little by little and go for a test ride each time and feel the difference. Also don’t forget to check your needle position. I have a video on that too. It plays a part aswell
My bad I thought you were talking about the stator but the flywheel is from eBay and it’s the new updated flywheel just copy the paste and search it up on eBay the part is in the description. 10k miles on it so far and no problems. The old oem has adhesive the one doesn’t which is better
@@JamesOnWheelsyour good brotha, how much did your flywheel run you? I got one for 100 bucks last august and not even 20 miles later a huge hole in the motor right where the flywheel sits between it and the chain. So was a little worried to go ebay again. What did yours run tho?
Hey great video. Was wondering if you could do a video explaining the paperwork on this bike. I've searched all over RU-vid and can't find anyone talking about the paperwork
Be careful with having that phone mount. The camera can get destroyed from vibration. I recommend buying a legit quad lock case for 20-30ish bucks, then get a knock off quadlock mount and vibration dampener from Temu for like 10$. I did that and saved 100$ and it works just as good as an actual quadlock!
@@JamesOnWheels yeah most newer phones or any phone with a stabilizer in the camera does not go well with vibration. I spent the 40$ and I’m set. My Temu mount kit came with an adhesive backing so with that plus my case I can use either of my phones with the mount. It’s pretty sweet
For me in the state of Washington I had to bring the bike of origin form and have it inspected by the state patrol. Then you bring it to the dmv and your good to go
@@JamesOnWheels I have one at the gas station rn. But this morning this guy told me my back wheel is low. I squished the tire n it’s flatter than the front.
Hey man I’ve been watching your videos since i got my bike. What main jet did you end up with? I cant seem to get the bike to stop bogging when i snap the throttle.
I think stock size is 98 but my advice is I would go up a size little by little for example 98 then 100 and if that doesn’t work 105 and so on. But also check the needle pin for the carb I can do a video on that if you want
Ive been using a nibbi pe24 carb. Im located in the bay area. I just ordered the same carb you installed and it should be here later today. Were you able to get yours to not die out when you snap the throttle all the way fast?
@@carlossd27 yup. As soon as I changed the main jet it didn’t bog in full throttle. It was acting the way it should when you add more gas.( go faster) you can also try changing the needle 🪡 position. I can definitely help you out bro
She's so supportive and already asking what you're going to change on it, now that's a team right there 💪 should be getting me one here in a couple months or so, already have 4 other china bikes and 5 Japanese bikes
@JamesOnWheels for sure gonna check them out, always looking for ideas, I should've gotten the vader instead of the hawk 125, but this year I'll have the vader, never seen them come with the gold forks, where did you order from?
