STAY AWAY FROM THIS AND OTHER HOUSE OF RESERVATIONS PROPERTIES. Don’t be misled by the positive reviews. We faced major safety issues with the main door, secured by a tiny padlock, and a large gap where people could look inside, which was dismissed as the “design of the property.” We also had construction workers who watched us closely, taking photos and videos of us when we’d walk out. They had a tarp over the pool to stop the construction workers looking in. The property manager admitted this. After raising our concerns, Airbnb refunded us and allowed us to stay the night due to the remote location of the property being surrounded by bush and construction. The host was upset and sent workers to cut off our water and electricity at 5 a.m., leaving us stranded in the dark. We had to use phone torches to pack and struggled with multiple Gojek cancellations due to the villa’s hard-to-find location before we were finally picked up. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere safer to stay.
