Claire, your story of Charlie resonates in my heart and I thank you for sharing this. Our middle daughter, Pippa, died last year in April and she always loved sunflowers and in her honour we had a simple sunflower wreath on her simple white cardboard coffin. Now her resting place is in the churchyard of LCBC. Her whole life was a time of suffering and, yet, through that she glorified God. Her faith in Christ as her Saviour and her Lord touched many of our neighbours and her certain hope of getting home to be with Christ kept her and us caring for her right through her agonising death. As you say believing that God is in control and He is with us in the pain and the grief enabled us to get through this difficult time. Thank you for letting us hear your story and your witness of the love and care of our Father.

Thank you so much for your honesty and your deep faith in your loss. This afternoon Neil came to see me and I agree with you that his quiet presence and gentleness was healing and comforting. Our middle daughter died ten months ago after agonising years of aggressively metastasising rectal cancer. We are still grieving and mourning her loss although she is now face to face with her Saviour and her Lord.

@@paddyharris3554 Thank you so much for your kind message and your promise to pray. I can honestly say that we have come to know our God and our Saviour more closely, more personally, than we would have otherwise known. His purposes for His redeemed children are profoundly good, grounded in His fatherly love, compassion and wisdom.

What a godly couple you are! Your mutual love and support is truly special. Having lost all your babies before they were viable to live, you have come to accept your losses in a God-framed way and continued to trust His goodness for you. We have lost our middle daughter in this last year to the devastations of aggressive metastatic cancer. She had suffered so much but in her agony she never blamed God. She was so excited to see her Lord and Saviour when this life was over and her faith gave us great strength and comfort.
