I don't know why this movie gets so much hate. It's basically historical fiction. Anastasia doesn't seem to get this much hate & it's no different (if not darker tbh). No one claims that either movie is historically accurate but they're both masterpieces in their own rights. Also, I so wish this had been included in the final release. It would've been a great contrast going from this to the song sang by Ratcliff & Powhatan, then going back to Pocahontas saving John & the weapons being laid down. Just my opinion though.
I miss this kind of animation so fricking bad man the head to head tender touch, the moonlight, the vocals that match each character perfectly, the fluffy hair, the cute animals 😢 and ughhhhh the final hand kiss ! Can't we get another such animation ? For the love of GOD, I BEG ... Preferably a classic love story like old times...I'm tired of this woke shit honestly I'm still a romantic and I'm starved for this type of classy, clean, intimate romance (book, animation or otherwise honestly) ...everything just seems to lack intimacy and quiet love nowadays smh
I to this day can't understand why this was cut out. Something in me keep feeling like Something was kissing from the movie until my friend bought me the dvd and I realized this scene was cut out
I agree that even tho I'm avid on knowing that this was historically innacurate and I'll pay respects to the Native American people..... I'm biased because I always loved this movie (only the first. I dont claim the prequel)
i alter the sequel where john rolfe and pochontas stayed friends and she and john smith return to new world together i don't care what commenters say this is way better then what we got
Me learning this wasnt in the theatrical version is also the same with the Morning report from the lion king and freaking Human again in beauty and the beast.
Two reasons I will never forgive Disney for cutting this scene: 1. It explains their love so much and can also show that a person can change for the better and it’s just a beautiful song that ties to the ending when Pocahontas and John Smith switch roles when they say: JS “I can’t leave you.” P: “You never will. No matter what happens, I’ll always be with you forever.” And Number 2: The Sequel
While I would never want a man like the real life John Smith, I'll forever want a Disney one. He was capable of change, had honor, and was true to his love for Pocahontas in the sequel (although I never acknowledge that one ever existed)
I'm glad they included it in the specific edition. If this is Mel Gibson actually singing voice, he missed out on a musical career! I would listen to his songs.
This was posted the year I turned one years old!!!! I grew up with this movie and loved it so much I would watch it constantly!!!! By the way I never liked the sequel, John Smith and Pocahontas's love story is so romantic/magical and this song prove that!!!! I can't believe they cut it out!!!! To me there was never a sequel!!!! 😭🥺❤️✨
Lethal Weapon the Musical by Legolambs made better use of this song because of the relationship the two main characters had built between each other. This is still good in its original context but even in the parody song it had more weight behind it if you were a fan of Lethal Weapon.
Don’t care how many soft clowns this comment triggers. But fuck princess and the frog! If they were going to retheme splash mountain (should’ve never been changed in the first place) it should’ve been after Pocahontas, only Disney princess that made the most sense for the ride. Disneyland wise the ride was in critter country. Who were Pocahontas’ friends in the movie? Ride is a log flume…what did Pocahontas go down waterfalls in? Please tell me how Tiana makes more sense other than being a racial band aid. (Mic drop)
