Widening a sleeve at top arm will naturally lower the sleeve head. These two elements work together. I'm wondering if it's best for you to multi-size & add a different size armhole to the body of your pattern to get the slightly larger sleeve & higher sleeve head.
I have a question . What happens to the extra one inch that gets added to the waist? What if I don’t need the extra inch. Can I just take it off from the side seam?

I just made this tee as a mock turtle neck and sleeveless. I had to add an inch to the sleeve opening to close up gaps but it worked out perfect for me.
Can't we just make a size bigger in the regular fit to get a roomy fit, or are they somehow different? Seems like just a couple of inches bigger looking at the measurements.
You could, as you could with any pattern. Just be aware that all the other elements will be a size bigger too. That's not what the roomy fit is. The roomy fit maintains the same size neckline & armhole fit, sleeve length, body length & cuff circumference. It offers a roomier fit through the body & shoulders, a much wider 2pc sleeve whilst maintaining the same size cuff circumference. It's short sleeve option is also wider though the top arm & hem. You can mix and match elements within the two fits for the most part. That said, for those that prefer one or the other, we offer that.
Loving some of the testers examples with shorter sleeves. Is that official (with cut lines in the pattern), or is that a hack? As I’d love to make this at bracelet sleeve length for the office. I guess I’d just shorten the main sleeve pieces.
It's official :) In the full pattern (reg & roomy) there are 2 different short sleeve fits (with 2 lengths in each). For bracelet sleeve length you could either hem the 2pc sleeve, omitting the cuff. Or shorten the cuff.
Hi Kate just bought the pattern and it looks like a lovely piece to sew. Nothing (except maybe the 2 lines of top stitching) that would be a challenge. Lovely step by step instructions. Thanks for showing us all of the smart ways to wear the jacket 🙋🏼🏴
Hi Tracy. There's full pattern (both regular & roomy) or you can just purchase regular or just roomy. I talk about it in the video but if you pop onto the website - I outline this in the 'features' tab.
I recommend a clear plastic foot so you can see what you're doing but if you only have metal, that's fine too. Use the side of the foot as a guide & move your needle so that it's 7mm from the edge of the fabric.
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words! We are an Aussie company, but our sizes are always based on measurements, so it doesn't matter where you are in the world. You'll find size charts for each pattern on our website, along with instructions on how to measure for each garment.
I know this is an old video but I’ve just bought the pattern and looking forward to finding a suitable fabric. Is it only really important to have four way stretch for the binding? I thought I heard you make a quick comment saying that. Thank you
To get the best fit, I'd recommend a 4-way stretch for the body. But it's okay if it just has horizontal stretch & vertical give (15%). I wouldn't use a fabric that has no vertical stretch at all. And yes, definitely need 4-way stretch (with elastane, lycra or spandex) for the wide binding.
Jut made this dress. Love the fit. First time trying this binding method. I confess not to be a fan of the method so will revert back to usual method next make. Made the below the knee which is pretty much midi on my short frame.
I liked the rib knit version. I have some of this type of fabric that I would love to use for this pattern. I might try the midi length with an offset slit.
