Interesting video because we got to see a great hotel with a fascinating biography included which reminded us how far society has progressed in 40 years.
Most definitely, but I do fear that we are slipping back quite a bit. Perhaps not in Palm Springs or the western city that I live but many places in the southern states seem to be falling quite a way back to the bad old days.
The video does not do the property justice. We spent a late spring weekend in 2023 and we will return. We felt as if we were the only couple on the property. The hot tubs are a great addition to our stay and was used every night.
We will be visiting your hotel for the first time in a few days. Your reviews are all over the place....which seems unusual. Our fingers are crossed! We come several times a year, staying at Sea Mountain. We're hoping everything will be clean & tidy.

We stayed the last weekend before it closed. It needed to be updated but I could visualize it's potential. Maybe we will squeeze in a little PS trip and check out the improved version.

Wonder if they still own it or sold? Such a great video from 2 years ago but all internet searches show it as “The Monkey Tree Hotel by AvantStay”, which I’m guessing that it is now a corporate owned hotel now rather than owned independently(?).

This place is a dump. Worn out, spa needs to be resurfaced, pool deck is flaking apart, pool is dirt, everything is done on the cheap example is his old fence post being left for lights, looks cheap. They are replacing mattresses, but they’re so uncomfortable, they should just save they’re money, till they can afford good mattresses. Pool towels are worn out and mismatched. This place is obviously struggling due to location. Clothing optional seemed to be a good idea, but now they are allowing swingers. They are lost with no solid direction.
Thank you for the wonderful tribute video. I'm glad they restored the rooms as they were once was. Not very happy with the major changes to Melvyns tho. Not crazy about the new entrance, nor the patio dining,or the very dark walls. But happy that there were a lot of kind words about Dad,and his history. 🥰 I love and miss you Pops.😪😪😪
