Cool that you shared your mod. Did you have the burner already, or did you buy it? I like the idea for raising up the burner. My brother in law says when he's cooking slow and slow, the flame sometimes blows-out if it's windy. Maybe raising the burner or the aluminum foil trick would help with preventing the wind from blowing-out the low flame.
I bought the burner from an online parts store. I'm thinking of getting or drilling a bigger gas port in the valve because I almost always want more heat rather than less. I nearly always have to do the aluminum foil tent.
If you're still interested, I used this video as inspiration and made a similar bar but gravity by itself didn't slam the round stopper down like that either. So i went low budget and made a longer version of the bar with a little longer on end so that i can attach a rubber band on it and the other end of the rubber band semi-tensioned pulling up so it naturally wants to make the front(closest to coffee can/cake pan) want to stay down but still easily lift up from the lip I added like this video. Works perfect and didn't take really any effort.
Basmati rice 3 cups Oil Water 5 cups Cumin seed 2 tsp Salt 1 tsp Onion Cloves about 5 Cardamom about 5 Cinnamon a couple sticks or 1/4 tsp powder Saffron big pinch
My mind was taking me somewhere and on something that would have taken much more $$ to build and time to make. Thank you so much for sharing your design. I think many copies of yours are already in the works😁 I'm thinking of a hopper box if you will up top of thatl gravity feed or maybe a spring trap. Already in the works. Hope many years of good service and health to you friend.
Neat little design. And it looks like if you needed to anneal larger brass, it looks like it’s getting lifted enough to do .338 LaPua or maybe even .50cal.? But I’m not sure the ramp or drum would hold it in. But for what I’d do and want to do, it’s work just fine.
Not really necessary, though yes it would probably flip them. As they are handled they flip over and over many times. Getting them from the tray into the loading plate without turning back over would be problematic. I may try it at some point though.
Interesting. Do you have a video or maybe a post where you detail the primer making process? I've seen a couple where people use match heads, but meh.... Elvis ammo made a couple of videos where he did some tests on some never-disclosed priming compound and it looked great, but he never talked about it again... bummer...
Aardvark Reloading dot com. That’s how I got started. Also look for the Mewe group. There are a bit over 1,000 folks on there who are making them. I’ve made about 1K non-corrosive successfully including the ones you see here. Surprisingly easy. YT vehemently opposes this content so I will say little else here, and I am intentionally vague regarding search terms. These vids are for a certain group of people, not for general consumption. I don’t want likes or subscribers. Cheers and best of luck.
I had a basmati rice recipe ages ago that was delicious and I cannot find it 😫 . This is the closest to what I remember. Will give it a try in the next few days.
First batch of homemade primers was loaded with Bullseye, and they went off without a hitch. This batch was specifically made with the slowest 9mm powder I had to see how it would light. I did a batch of 100 rounds, and probably 60% were hangfires like this. I had zero with Bullseye, so I blame the primers. I’m in the process of tweaking these primers to boost power and flash until they are as powerful as commercial SPP’s.
It’s a 1/2” square aluminum bar stock. I drilled a hole to fit the threaded post that it pivots on. I drilled and installed a self tapping screw to hold the wire, then bent the legs to sit where I need them to. Thats it! If you’re planning to build one of these, just ensure you put a post there to pivot on. Also, make sure that it sits high enough to provide clearance for the fattest cartridge case you plan to use. I hope this helps.
I shoot videos for family and friends, not to get subscribers or money. My goal is generally to make the shortest video that conveys all the info. I hope you like it, my family eats a lot of this! We add scrambled eggs, sausage and some peppers and shredded carrots or whatever veggies I have laying around. Makes a hearty meal, and never lasts long. The basmati rice is not sticky when cooked this way, it is loose and has a better texture. Make sure not to exceed the cook time unless you’re at high altitude. Recently I’ve started cooking for 12 or even 11 min. It’s hard to cool it down quickly but that is key.
I don't like it when people think of excellent, simple, effective, efficient ideas that I didn't think of 1st. So for that reason, I really like the indexer but, I dislike you.
1/2”x1/2” actually. The screw it rides on is a 1/4”. The wires can be bent easily with pliers to adjust it as necessary for different cases. Or you could make a different gate for each cartridge. Pretty easy either way.
I just copied Elfsters plans at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k0xE-6bSwME.html Instead of the cabinet, I folded some aluminum plate into the same shape then added the case gate that lets in one case at a time.
