my company was trying to paste this job on ship staff, even I was thinking while watching this video how come the ship staff doing this work, In my company, they sent 3 chief engineers with extra allegiance to the office (you know what I mean) and all returned home after big talks during joining. Finally, the vessel had to wait from drydock where this got repaired, of course, ship staff assisted but it was a drydock with full resources and people at disposal.
job take time so no hurry and worry ....Last ship i change one windlass & 2 winch seal...job is big but can be do by ship staff problems faces ..bolt opening due to rust(as Allen bolt) , take out take time due to full stick to surface .. just put some hammer to come out with vibration before that make good holding scaffolding like show in video to hold motor .no need to open back side only front side open but careful pinion gear came with motor ...so putting back that big job ... better open cover back side and put lot of grease from that side so can easy removal then fit back again cover . don't put back side jack as no space and no use .
I have a heavy rust hydraulic motor now.sick to dismantle it.I plan gas torch to overheat the rust bolt and gear shaft to remove it.just worrying too much degarde the material
hello, we have a problem with the fuel system, I am trying to find a solution. When we open steam to the fuel heater, the fuel pressure rises, I disassembled the heater, I tested it, there is no leakage Anyone help me about it a idea
Don't know about surveyor reply but practically we hav only plug options others wise we hav to chang full tube and its not possible onboard.its drydock job
@@TechnicalSailor yes we are supposed to insert stud and pull from both ends with nuts .to keep the plugs in tension and in place. Don’t know how practical it is ..

Hello. Can you help me, my ships air horn is good working but last time when it was started it did not stop. It has been stopped only when I closed air valve. What can be reason of that?
I suggest removing tell tale pipe. Can block up over time and if remains blocked and your mechanical seal fails, water will pass back through your oil seal into your oil system. Keep tell tale hole clear all the time
I have a suggestion in this video, because I saw a mistake when inserting a new log sensor, it might be damaged the tip. When inserting the log sensor, do not directly push down, just insert a little bit until you reach the chain to connect, chain is for a safety stopper. then Fully OPEN the ball valve, and that's the time you push harder. hope this can help.
