@@TwistedYarns I am looking to make one for myself woman size and it does not matter if it is pull over or cardigan style. I just want to start machine knitting, so I am looking for something easy. Thanks kindly

@@TwistedYarns Not a novice, fully aware. I have tried this style on tight knitted cottons, nylon and other hard yarns. I crochet VERY tightly too, especially straps. I have found that these pick with much use and so have many of my friends. hmmm
I went back to your first comment and realized, my crossbars are not sharp at all. That may be a consideration. However, I'm interested to know if you have a suggestion for improving this?

If you do not have a ribber, you can reform stitches to make ribbing but on this pattern, it would be tedious. However, here is a link for another video How to Machine Knit the Rainbow Mock Rib Cap. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-riVYQeHSQaM.html This is a fast and easy pattern for those without ribbers. Although this video features a child's cap, the pattern includes caps for all sizes! Pick colors that are suitable!
I just found this video. Thank you. I see that the threading is similar to threading the old two color gc for brother machines. I need to play with my Passap plaiting device.
When you cut the first row, if you mean how to handle the couple of inches before the cut, then you just pick out the stitches and then replace them as part of the fix. This gives you 2 yarn tails at both ends. Weave them in. If you mean how do you finish the edge after it is replaced, well, you can do any kind of edging. Scallops or shells, picot, reverse sc or whatever you desire. Once it is fixed (replaced) it is ready for anything. Watch my video "Four Easy Picot Borders" at this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nrtVqnvQb6Q.html Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for viewing!
A million thanks for this great tutorial. Such an eye-opener! I just wanted to share a tip that worked very well for me. I started on a large rug (210x130 centimetres), and was planning to make it as one single moss-stitch rectangle using your method. However, as my rectangle increased in size, I noticed that the short sides tended to be a bit narrower than the overall width as measured across the middle. The difference was a good centimeter. It seemed that the corners were slightly too tight which caused tension. I ripped up the whole thing and started over, using the following workaround: Every other round, do the corners according to the video, i.e SC, CH2, SC in the 2-chain corner space. Every other round, SC2, CH2,SC2 in the 2-chain corner space. My corners are now a perfectly 90 degrees, and the width of my work is consistent all over. The extra bulk provided by the extra stitches in alternate rounds seems to compensate for the tightness of the regular rounds. I am using 4 strands of cotton yarn 8/4 and a 4.5 mm hook.
Great job! True confession time. The reason I did the video is because I'm just like everyone else and LOL I must have been in a brain fog and made a sweater for my grandson too short! Thought perhaps my mistake could benefit others!
FYI: The Brother "pressers" are unique to the Brother 230 ribber (KR230). They come with the ribber. This was the original Brother Bulky. I use them sometimes with heavy yarns but they fit only in the carriage of the KR230 and are called for in the manual instructions for this model. Most of the time I use just weights and it works fine. The Brother KR260 ribber which fits the KH260 and KH270 does not have these. I checked the manual.
It's authentic because my viewers asked specific questions. I love my viewers they are inspirational! If you have a specific question. Please ask! So thank you for watching!
I was having such a hard time figuring out how to do a border for this blanket, and am happy I saw this video. Thank you for a fabulous tutorial, it helped me so much!
Why not! You may want to watch How to Crochet the Magic Mushroom in the Round video as that would be the simplest way to do a market bag....just bigger! Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2ukll_lTK7Y.html and the How to Crochet the Tapered Strap: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2ukll_lTK7Y.html
Thank you for this! I am a very advanced knitter learning how to crochet this year. I can do this in knitting, but in crochet? terrifying, lol. So thank you! You've saved my blanket!
Yes, it can be done with increases or decreases. I would work slowly when removing stitches though as the structure of an increase is 2 in one so you need to catch both parts when rebuilding the chain. On the other hand, the structure of the decrease is 1 from 2 so you need to rework 2 stitches along the edge. Then of course, depending on the pattern of the ripple there could also be "chains between stitches" involved. I did another video that rebuilds the edge for more elaborate patterns (but not specifically the ripple). Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q4AgyKfkKAQ.html
I know this is a random question so im getting a machine just like this one but havent found a good video on using the auto color changer like that one <3... any suggestions?
Not that I know of. But are you wondering how to use it? or how to take it apart? When you indicated "<3" do you mean a 2 color changer? This one is a 4 color changer and they originally came with 2-color changers. Let me know... It's a great idea for a video.
@@TwistedYarns yes i have the manual but i follow video so much easier... <3 is a heart but sideways <3... im still cleaning everything then will be putting it back together.
Thank you! I knew there would be a way like this to fix it! But no one else had a solution other than undoing it all! You’re a legend. Thank you for sharing 😁
You are welcome! Let me know if you have any other crochet challenges! I love a good challenge! This method I created a very long time ago... to solve my students' problems. Instead of discouraging crochets...it's encouraging.
I got a lk150 knitting machine about 2 years ago....I am going to sell it because I kept knitting with the wrong size yarn(I just ) I want to get a standard guage becouse I use 4 ply yarn, which is a standard guage knitting machine ,NOT a mid guage. I would like to get a standard guage and kept getting dropped stiches..... Plus, thanks for the tip on the crochet edge on the project!!
I got a bulky gauge machine in 2020 and I haven't made much progress because of the gauge. When you say standard Gauge, what type of yard are you using? If I want to use fingering and sport weight yarn, do I get a standard gauge machine?
@@matthewhofele3771worsted weight I would get a 8mm or 9mm machine, which is labeled as chunky or bulky, a standard gauge works best with fingering, lace weight and sport weight or numbers 0,1,2 sometimes if it’s a very light 3 weight yarn.
@@loriemoore3020yes I would get a standard gauge machine, your bulky works best with weight 3,4 and some size 5 depending on the yarn. I have a standard but ended up buying a chunky because I wasn’t able to use most of the commercial available yarns I already had in my standard gauge.
What are you doing in after that last peak? You completely skip over it until we’re at the last 3 stitches. I keep getting lost on the end. I start with 56 chains like you and follow the video along with you and I still don’t know what I’m doing at the end of the chain.
Oh no! I will look into it. If you want to contact me for specifics my email is Mary@twistedyarns.com! I will be happy to answer your specifc questions!
Thanks for your instructions ❤ This is the first ever KM RU-vid that could see clearly how to hang the cast on comb on the left hand side of the machine 🙏 😘
