hey bro. I have a problem.you have a pump shaft on the motor, and mine took off with the lid. Today I could not put it back. Can you give me advice on how to do this?
Hey there! I’m rebuilding this exact motor and I’m having issues getting everything timed correctly(this is my first KTM and I can’t see any sort of timing marks on the bottom end). How did you get your motor timed?
So, am I correct in assuming the clutch assembly doesn't have to be removed to replace the timing chain? I ask, because I've heard conflicting information regarding this topic. The KTM service manual shows the timing gear and chain being removed after the clutch assembly is removed. However, at about the 2:07 mark in your video, you're clearly installing the gear and chain after the clutch basket is installed. So, unless I'm missing something, this leaves me to assume I could do a timing chain removal and replacement without removing the clutch assembly.
Can't believe you revved it when it's just been built like cmon you have to leave like a min or two because you will blow it up and take it easy aswell you put too much pressure on the bike Don't think im a know it all it's just facts Also don't get huskys
DjLeonn1 There shouldnt be a gasket for that. Even from factory they put a liquid gasket like what he used. Its not red silicone. Its a high heat liquid gasket.
Cebastien Larochelle the difference is very little but the engines and the bikes themselves is the difference they all make their own type of bike some can be reliable some cannot depends but I like KTM because of the quality and the electric start but don't get huskys they are shit
a husky is literally the exact same bike. Engine platform is identical. biggest difference is the carbon composite subframe on the husky vs aluminum on the ktm. Which actually works in its favor because the airbox is reshaped and makes slightly better power
HI I need to replace timing chain on my sxf, I reasamble top end, as I understand I need to take off cluch and water pump cover, what than? do I need some special tools for that? tnx
itelläni ku on ktm sx-f 250 vm 2007 nii osaisitko sanoo mikä on vikanu ku nesteisiin tulee hirmuset paineet ja vaikka jäähytysletkut on hyvin nii silti työntää letkujen välistä nestettä voisko vika olla kannetiiviste tai kansipaskana
I have a 2013 250 sxf and I can't tell if my oil is leaking behind the water pump or the valve cover gasket?? Any thoughts? You obviously know what's up with these engines
I took the gear off from the bottom, so it wasn't necessary to cut off the chain, when i dismantle the engine. The chain is easy to put back on when the chain tensioner is loosed. You don't need tools for that.
How did you clean your cases so well? Mine have been tarnished from caked on mud, and I'm thinking I would have to sand blast them to clean them, but I am scared of using a blaster near machined surfaces/oil channels/seals etc.
skilled! If you have a mo could you give me some tips on measuring the valve clearances. I have the cam cover off but I can't rotate the wheel to get tdc, I have the plug out, few people saying to just tap the starter to get tdc but I'm worried if I can't move it by hand. cam chain looks fine, had no problems been riding and starting fine. cheers
