It was neat to see on the birdhouse project how 2 items could be paired together to make something new. I find myself looking for thrift items or things around the house to be made more beautiful or updated-Thank you!!
The peg organizer was my favorite! I’m always finding old wood pieces like this at my thrift stores and making them over. I love it because we’re saving beautiful wood and making beautiful little pieces that are still so functional and useful ❤️thank you for your video 😊
I just purchased a basket today to do the exact thing you did with your basket. Your video is confirmation that I should move forward with my project ❤ Loved all of your projects 😊
You achieved such beautiful finishes with your glazing. I really liked the little basket on the spindle! The combination of the two textures is really pretty. 😊
the first one , but the cheap basket on the top of the spindle looks awful, why didn't you make a candle stick out of it instead of putting a candle inside the cheap basket with some artificial flowers around
That comment was awfully rude... Have you ever heard the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all?" That's what you should be practicing!
Thanks for your question. In almost all cases for painting solid wood you follow these steps: 1. Wash or wipe the piece down. 2. Scuff sand with 120 grit sandpaper (you don’t have to sand to bare wood unless you are staining) 3. Wipe off the dust. 4. Paint the piece. 5. Wax or polycrillic the piece -optional-depending on how you want it to look and depending on how the piece is being used. I don’t always video myself sanding pieces but I try to mention it when explaining the steps. I hope this makes sense- happy crafting!
I watched the first video -- I loved how it turned out....will get back on later and see that other projects you are doing. You are doing a great job in repurposing.....
Sorry for the audio. I tried to fix but it’s still blaring in spots! Isn’t it ironic that this video shows me refinishing a toilet cabinet all the while having sewer issues!! 😂
It's Wed. 9:35pm. Don't you hate when you forget to do something during the process!! Turned out beautifully! Can't wait for the reveal. It looks totally different! Great job! Sorry for the added trouble. It never goes smoothly. Happens to all of us one time or another!! Love ya!❤❤❤❤
Sorry, couldn't respond right away! Enjoyed your video very much. What a great job you did! God has blessed you with many talents. Keep up the good work, we are very proud of you‼️ A. Anita❤❤❤❤
On my phone, it looks like your navy blueum. You're saying they're Gray? That's strange that it would show a different color I mean I believe you but it's just show in different on my end. That's crazy
I'm dying! You're crushing inside your house??! Do your person know what you're doing lol😅? I have to resort to vintage chair flipping in the winter and one tiny wood project in the garage. No inside work at all. Yeah. Good for you, brave one. Very lovely tables.
Thanks for the information on what has worked for you! I have used sanding blocks and an orbital sander in other wood projects but not the wood blocks or cork.
Although you seemed to do a great job with what you had, I think you'd be surprised how nice it is to sand with a proper sanding block. A flat piece of MDF or wood with a layer of cork for a bit of cushion really smooths out the pressure for nice, even sanding. I've also used a layer of firm weather stripping foam rubber when I didn't have cork. That is a little over-cushioned for flat surfaces (though still works ok), but it would be better for non-flat shapes. 5 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches makes perfect use of a quarter sheet of sand paper. (The paper wraps up the sides a bit for you to hold onto.) That being said, a random orbital sander would have made super quick work of removing that painting. But like I said, you seemed to do very well with what you did use. Just my two cents to make life a bit easier. Carry on!
