My spotted phlox - true blue natives are starting to die. Zone 5, it's either been very hot (80-90) or heavy downpours the past few weeks. Will a rose fertilizer help? Possibly needs more nutrients?
I normally buy organic granulated cane sugar for my own diet. It has kind of a yellow tint. Is that okay to use? I'll just buy some regular refined white granulated in the meantime for the hummingbirds. I got a feeder from the dollar store, which came with a store bought recipe. I got hummingbirds within a day. This is fun!
Hello! I’ve always heard to use white refined sugar for the solution. I checked to find out why that is and, from what I saw online, it looks like it most closely comes to a flower’s natural nectar and that organic, brown, etc. have too much iron for hummingbirds. Enjoy your new feeder! I absolutely love watching them!!
What would you recommend for zone 7 i always put out hanging plants in the summer but they end up dead find out there usually annuals 😢 looking for perennials i can bring in doors and still have them up and beautiful indoors too any advice? Thank you
I just bought one at my local grocery store and am so excited to find this wonderful perennial shrub! I have a damp sunny place near my house to plant it. perfect! Thanks for the info❤
I’m calling this video blooms and birds! It’s a shorter one this week as I’m working on a few small projects (stay tuned the next few weeks), but wanted to share what’s currently happening in the garden! No music this week, just the sounds of nature 😊.
With my hanging plants, if i don't have holes i put old sponges ( or new ) on the bottom. This way here it keeps them refreshed 😁 I would break up the soil and add some fresh soil. Just saying
Not quite sure! I actually welcome ones like the one in the video because they help control the population of the venomous snakes and rodents. They can startle me though from time to time when I’m not looking out for them!
Thank you! I believe that’s it! I have some plants that I’ve had for many years (long before I started keeping up with the variety) and this is one. Thank you so much for solving the mystery 😊!
Hello! This week’s video is a bit longer as I can tend to ramble in my excitement about gardening 😊! I hope you enjoy and make sure to check out some of the garden “visitors” included in the video! Happy gardening! 🌻🌸☀️
I have had such a hard time with this plant, killed 4 already 1 might make it. I'm gonna plant my last one tomorrow, I've learned alot, from other video. But really like yours
@@shannongardens5476 Hi Shannon and thanks. Use to live in Marietta, but now in Ohio Zone 6, Fairly new to gardening would watch videos w/ great plants only to learn they're in another zone. Grr & LOL But am learning hardiness zones are only to distingish between Perinnial or not/whether they can survive winters in certain areas???
