7:30 not exactly. its more-so how tomodachi life/collection handles voices. but honestly, that's not a bad example to compare vibri's voice with Animalese
This was interesting, and the Hammocks joke sent me. I’ve deliberately avoided replaying Obra Dinn for six years now, and I’m hoping that at some point I’ll be able to play it fresh again. I still remember the big reveals, and most of the small ones, but maybe someday I can at least get a partial fresh experience on the granular stuff. It’s a dream to hold onto anyway
04:19 Wait with the first warp until you're close to the second green power-up and use warp a split second before driving into the power-up. So basically you'll warp into the second green power-up and when you come out of it you have it.
You know, I'm somewhat glad I could get to this video early enough to see what is essentially a micro-fandom surrounding this rabbit character. It's like watching events develop inside a snow globe.
This game had heavy vehicle customization which I loved. I often compare it to Top Gear Rally 64 with your own hand-painted liveries you could add to vehicles. That would have been really cool in this one. Grew up with this game.
I never had a strong contact with this kind of game, but i absolutely LOVED túnic, some of the best games ever, i Felt só nostaugic and flabergasted só many times in só many ways!
Wow I've been going back to that bunny mural for weeks, figuring there's just something hidden in plain sight that I've missed. Thank you for releasing me from my torment. Agreed that this is exactly the kind of info I would like signalled/spoiled - that a presented puzzle is not solvable within just the game itself. Love the term Metroidbrainia by the way. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but it does capture a feeling I've felt from all the games that you've mentioned, that isn't covered by the more obvious over-genre: Zelda-like, Metroidvania, platformer, puzzle game, etc, etc
17:28 this dang song. When I was a kid I remember being so confused and then immediately enraged by the song because the lyrics say “don’t stop now, don’t stop now” and then “stop…….now” so I stopped when it said “now” and vibri squealed and was in pain because of me :(
@@maxwell_edison It wouldn’t matter. The colors are for where the shape appears on the track, not the shape itself. You can think of the multi ones as like in DDR when you push 2 arrows at the same time.
honestly, i think the non-beat-generated approach works a lot better when it's applied to songs you're familiar with? like, when i listen to something new, my brain tends to latch on to the beat and the melody above everything else, but the more times i hear it, the easier it gets to pick up on other elements of the song. i can't really pinpoint what it is the inputs form to, but i know it feels much more natural when i know the song that goes with it, and that doesn't feel like the worst idea for a game where one of the biggest draws was the ability to play it with your own music collection.
Rhythm games that use mp3-files to generate levels are nothing new nowadays which is exactly why I would love to see a sequel to Vib-Ribbon that has integration with Spotify. I feel like that would be the modern-day equivalent to using CDs back in the day. Just imagine how cool it would be to have a nearly endless supply of songs, all with their own leaderboards. The only problem would be the legality of it all. There's so many little questions that it's pretty much an impossibility. (Will the game have ads? Do you need Spotify Premium? How does the monetization work, will artists get paid if you play songs in the game? What if an artist doesn't want the song to appear in the game, do you just have to ask that from everyone?)
Hey! Idk if you have a twitter, but your video had actually inspired me to make a low-poly model of what Vibry could have looked like if she had been adapted like you suggested, I'd love to be able to show you somehow
I think weirdly enough, I think you have given the biggest promotion to this game through historical context. I for certain I’m going to go out and look more into this community because it looks pretty fun. Plus honestly speaking, Programming this looks both like a pain in the ass, but also really fun to make.
You were right about the shortcuts. Fortnites rocket racing has many shortcuts for the players to use but it end up with 1 optimal route that a skilled player can always win with if they use it Also I'd like to know your thoughts on motor kombat
Surprised you brought up the twitter information but somehow missed the "reveal" of the map. The city in ZA is huge with pokemon preserves inside it which with different biomes. theres also some rumors of the sewage system and the tower acting as extra "floors" TLDR there's plenty of space for a whole game to take place. Google Luminose City plans vs Present Day Map. i think it's fan made but given the size of the city and the scale being operated at there's plenty of room for different biomes.
i love her so much... but the fact that the tutorial is the most fun i see in this game is a huge problem. i have not played it, but yeah gameplays ive seen are all very odd and not timed at all. and since vibri is cute, miku is a hit, and ai covers are around now... i kinda wish vibri could cover the songs you get to use? idk how well that would work, i like the concept in my head at least, lmao im no good at rhythm games, so i cant really point to other features, or get what you explained about ddr.. but a style choice they could borrow is all over vector games, or even oscilloscope music. i really think they were going for a more oscilloscope look, a more limited thing than even tempest, with the no colors, but a sequel can stretch out to more features. like you said, such as color.
