Ck is literally just saying we need to humble ourselves and be happy with what we have and do what we can to make ourselves happy. Not buying or wasting money on things for brief happiness. We all live different lives and no one will have the same outcome, and that's okay. Money cant buy happiness- just short term happiness.
What you’re forgetting Louis is our forefathers fought and died for these freedoms and not everyone did that’s why not everyone should be in this country
imagine paying your hard earned money to a comedian. never in my life payed for any comedian. they got rich off broke people now they make fun of them.
Perspective is why Louis is consistently funny and one of the greats and why Joe isn't close when it comes to comedy. Yet folks think Joe is "one of us."
I don't remember the specifics, but some president in like the 60s or 70s, or the government in general, made it harder/more expensive for skilled laborers to come over here. They upped the cost to get American citizenship, and made it much more tiresome and beareaucratic. The reason was to push manufacturing/warehouse jobs and less/unskilled labor. So they could pay workers less as time went on. I'm not saying the system is fucked, though it has its problems and corruption (way too much lobbying and shady deals going on behind closed doors), I'm just simple adding to what Louis CK is trying to say here. The term he shouldve used was yuppies, to refer to such people. I think he was getting at rich snobs who live in a bubble and have never taken a stroll through the ghetto at night for example. Even poor people can live in a bubble. Burst your bubble before someone else pops it for you. Okay I'm done with my rant thanks for listening.
I dropped out of my university because of the left propaganda. I was studying psychology and was being taught how to not refer to someone by any pronouns when I first meet someone. I was being taught about gender identity but not loss of identity as being a psychological disorder… I would join this academy but I’d love for this to be accredited.
What works for one person doesn't guarantee for it to work for another everybody different. Cold plunging not going to positively affect 100% of people, it's correct that it's abstract.
Listening to Joe Rogan really does make me feel dumber. It's so troubling to me that this guy is the most influencial -- like how ignorant are the majority of people really? I don't consider myself all that smart but Joe's takes are almost always 10 levels below me, and if these conversations are of value to so many (let's be honest) men... what the fuck does the median man actually think about? That explains a lot about why the world is what it is actually. Amen for the big brains dragging our species forwards while the numbnuts dig their collective heels in.
You really don't need all these fancy gadgets. Take a freezing cold shower and let your body warm up naturally and gradually - there's your cold exposure. Put on a hoodie and take a jog in the summer - there's your heat exposure. You don't need saunas and cold plunges.
I agree with Louis about immigration. It’s a stance that gets you laughed at, sadly. Outside the consensus or like overton window of American politics.
There's a real irony that no one seems to be talking about. Louie is describing himself when he talks about a 'non-organic' life. Being gated and separated, living a non-organic life and having meaningless conversations describes his life more than anyone else's. In fact he's an open book about being this exact person. Eating what he wants when he wants, consuming things he knows are bad for him and even admitting to having money for no other reason than being a professional asshole. He is that guy. Whereas the people that research cold plunges and whatever else are actually trying to get us to stop living the 'non-organic life' and say we need a lifestyle closer to the way that people with less privileges live. Case in point, the healthiest people I've ever seen were in the towns on the mountain trails of Nepal. Research says to live more like those people and Louie is the absolute opposite of that. In fact, his entire act is about what a useless POS his is. He is also incredibly passive-aggressive in this conversation so its clearly projection that's rooted in self-hate.
This is really a conversation about Malsow's hierarchy of needs. Society in general is creeping up the pyramid, so the focus, stress, and crisis that people face are going to be more and more existential in nature.
Louis has a very nuanced world view.. He has the maturity to understand his view might not be the right one..Joe is in his head and feels his world view is what everyone should be having
Louis CK saying we shouldn’t be this safe in America and we should let everyone in? Weird. Also Louis CK isn’t interested in leaving this country either which is just like everyone else who wants to open the border. What a weird outlook on things.
