Looking at picking up a type r this year and would probably look at doing a track day or two are these still going and I presume all newbies take a instruction and training session first before being let loose?
Nice! Just came back from some laps down at lakeside and this was the video I needed. Love driving Lakeside! What day was this done on? The pace is quite fast, is this a test and tune day?
Way too few views on this one. The best video on car slide control on youtube I've found. Also shows cross hand steering. Awesome job, folks! Thank you
Ben's a a really consistent driver, I raced him at my first grip attack and he had me on every corner, he gave me some good pointers for navigating the track faster. Tarmac is a little different to dirt.
Nice one. About time some Skid Control videos started coming out again. It must be like that bit in The Castle when you need to shift a car out of the new premises: "“Oh Steve, could you move the Camira? I need to get the Torana out so I can get to the Commodore.” “I’ll have to get the keys to the Cortina if I’m gonna move that Camira.” “Yeah. Watch the boat, mate.”"
We are so happy to be back at the videos! Was a massive change over the time off so now we can get back into it....just after we move the Torana out of the way :P
Is it possible to move the steering rack forward 35mm? I have an angle kit (that I haven't installed yet) that uses tie rod offset spacers but Id much rather move the rack if that's even a possibility.
@@SkidControl From what I have seen wisefab just put out a relocation kit adapting a lexus rack (requiring a PS pump) but it involves chopping up the subframe and welding the new bracket in.
We know it's been too long! FAR TOO LONG! Hopefully we will be back with content again soon but for now here is a video we put together for everyone to enjoy! 🧡
@@SkidControl any way you can make a video out of it. I been looking all over RU-vid cant find one. You can get a good amount of views if it's the first one up
Firstly the drift stick doesn't come out for Right Hand Drive models, secondly handbrake isn't "needed" but when used can allow you to rotate the car a LOT more (backwards entries in AWD's). We literally teach people how to slide, I have a feeling we may know a thing or two. But thanks for your input ;)
Skid Control - Skid Happens I never said the handbrake didn’t do anything or doubted that it helps, I said that if you use it then you should learn how to slide/drift with out it, as it’s not good for the car, hence why the drift stick was made, and also you can get them on rhd cars, you may not get it from ford but you can source them from performance companies
Jordan Booty Did you watch the video in full? Where we were sliding it without the handbrake under power only and huge Scandinavian flicks? Or did you just want to put in your armchair expert opinion? FYI, no factory fitted handbrake was ever "built" for starting a slide, but it is and has been used worldwide for Rally, Drift and Motorkhana (Yes the stock handbrake as well as purpose built ones). It's our car, what we do with our car is our choice. Driving a car in that way is never "good" for a car, but we want to do it and we have fun doing so. Next time you want to offer an opinion on how things should work, start by not telling someone that they don't know how to do it properly. Not one person that knows how to slide an AWD would actually look at video that and say they don't know how to do it properly. It's all in the way you approach the situation 👍
Skid Control - Skid Happens it’s not really an armchair opinion considering I have a 2017 RS, I never stated factory fitted handbrakes where built for slides, so that’s a pointless remark, and yes they stock ones have been used, I never said they haven’t, and by looking at your skill level, you’re not that great or smooth with it which is why I offered my opinion to the person, which is you, who can’t do it properly, and just because you have a company teaching complete novices, doesn’t mean you know everything about it or are even that good
Jordan Booty You're a bit special aren't you, have fun in your 2017 RS with your incredible world class skills mate. I look forward to you showing me how it's done at a track some day 😂
