The elevator looks much more dangerous in popular videos because the video is sped up. In fact, despite being dangerous, it looks like a lot of fun to embark on.

Hi sorry for responding late. It was an easy hike and would probably take about an hour or less. The hike is very scenic so you’ll probably take longer because of taking pictures. If you’re planning a summer hike just bring hat and lots of water cause it can get really warm in Sicily.
Thank you for sharing the video of this beautiful scenic ride, is it comfortable to ride in 2nd class carriage in the month of June (last week) or will it be cold (< 10º C) at some altitudes in the journey ? trying to see if panoramic carriage is a better option but I love the option of opening windows :)
