Hi, I installed this one a few days ago. All my readouts/settings seem fine but I'm getting no change in temp other than from ambient air temps. Care to help me troubleshoot before I ship it back? I'm pretty sure I won't get much response from customer service at the company, from what I have read in the reviews.
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 2 дня назад
Of course. I hope I responded fast enough before you sent it back so we can try first. Do you have a diverter valve installed to make sure only 14-17 GPM of water is being pumped to your heat pump? You can send me pictures of your setup if you’d like and I can see if I can spot something. Email happy@aussaliers.com
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 2 дня назад
I haven’t heard great things about customer service there but I haven’t interacted with them. If they would detail the instruction manual they would have good reviews. The main thing with these heat pumps is just making sure you have a diverter valve because it won’t heat your water up if you have let’s say 25 GPM running through it. It needs a slower flow. One thing I wanted to ask is how warm is it in your area in the day and how cold at night?
@CandiMock
@CandiMock 2 дня назад
@@Aussaliers Thanks for replying! I will take pics in the daylight and email you. I heard in your video the importance of flow rate-I checked the stats on the pump, I read that it's 16 GPM, if that is indeed correct (meaning, I don't know how to check it personally at my own pump.) I'm in MN, the temps can get mid 70's, drop to mid 50's at night. It's fall so of course it's fluctuating all over. My intent was to get the heater going to extend the season just a bit, then take the pool down for the season, but be all prepared for next summer. But if this heater isn't the way to go, I have until the end of the month to return it. Also FYI, Xtremepower did email me back, saying the factory would have to respond.

How many gpm is your pump? Dial it in to about 14-17 gallons per minute. At 72 degrees outside it should heat it up pretty good.

I have seen my cousins 2022 Nissan Rogue do this. One of her friends has had it happen on her 2022 Nissan Rogue. So that’s 3 now I have heard of this. The Dealer claimed a bad battery and each got a new battery from the dealers. It happened again at least once in both Rouges that I was told. Thank you for your Excellent content, you are a great help.

Not the emergency park brake but I push the break in before placing into park. I found if I used the emergency park break it happens more frequently.
@jonny-b4954
@jonny-b4954 29 дней назад
@@Aussaliers I'm pretty sure that's what it's referring to. To not rely on the transmission to maintain "park" but to also use the emergency brake (or parking brake is what it's really called) like you would in a manual shifter. Otherwise it would say something like: depress brake when shifting to park. Or whatever
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 29 дней назад
That’s a really good point but in this case, why won’t my car start and it just gives you the error without starting there’s no reset battery fuse or otherwise it has to be towed to the dealer so I was just wondering if there’s a workaround
@jonny-b4954
@jonny-b4954 29 дней назад
@@Aussaliers Yeah, I'm not sure on a workaround. Definitely seems like an issue if it keeps saying it after you put it in neutral, apply parking/emergency brake, then move into park, shut car off. Software or something, who knows. These cars nowadays ain't like they used to be where you could fix almost everything yourself. Hopefully it's a common enough issue that the dealership is familiar.
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 29 дней назад
That’s for sure. I would rather have my 72 Chevy back right now. In fact, I’d probably trade them straight across and still make the payment on this one if I could get it back. I could fix everything but you’re right these new ones are all computer controlled. There’s a few videos out about it, but they don’t know how to fix it. I don’t think I’ve even called Nissan consumer affairs and they can’t do anything. At least that’s what they said. Appreciate your comments and trying to help.

These are the settings: No. Meaning Range Default Changeable Water input temperature (actual) -2~210°F N/A Exhaust temperature (actual) -2~210°F N/A Copper temperature (actual) -2~210°F N/A 1 Heating setting water temperature 59°F~95°F 81°F YES 2 Water temperature difference to restart 2°F~ 18°F 4°F YES 3 Exhaust temperature protection 86°F~ 176°F 117°F YES 4 Automatic restart 0/1 1 YES 5 Automatic defrost cycle time 10-90min 40min YES 6 Automatic defrost setting temperature -22°F ~32°F 32°F YES 7 Temperature of exit auto-defrost mode 34°F~86°F 36°F YES 8 Time of exit auto-defrost mode 10-40min 30min YES Give this a try. Remember you’ll probably want to check on it every hour or so until you have the correct temperatures dialed in on numbers 5-7 which are the defrost settings-might be best to do it during the daytime. When you see the green light on it should be in defrost just not all the time, I’d probably keep the flow rate as low as possible without the heat pump turning off automatically just to make sure it’s going to work. If ice appears really thick on the condenser unit you’ll want to adjust the defrost time and the temperature will need to be adjusted for when it’s put into defrost mode. I think the people who made these must think that we’re geniuses or something because I tell you what it took me a while to dial mine in, and I understand heating and air conditioning which is the same principle on this heat pump. The heat pump definitely works great once you do dial it in but you’d think they might put more instructions in with it. I’m interested to know how yours turns out. Let me know if it starts heating up, or if I can help if this doesn’t work. If you notice a difference in your water temp increasing, increase your flow rate back up to 17 GPM, below are the adjustments I’d recommend right now. 95°F = 35°C 2°F (remains unchanged) b2 (I think it’s because it’s unable to display the 3rd digit) 1 (in case of a power failure. It will turn back on if set at one if it’s set at zero, it will not.) 10°F = -12°C -2°F = -19°C 34°F = 1°C 10°F = -12°C I think this setting changes it to Celsius or Fahrenheit 1/0

I hooked up this heat pump last night. I was pretty amazed how quickly it heated the water. The manual says let it run 24 hours a day until it reaches the desired temperature. I turned it on about 1800. Next morning at 0500, it was off. My water temp showed 82 and the setting was at 85. I restarted it. I'm not sure why it stopped? Your water temp settings in the video is 95 which is max. I'm curious if you keep it at that or changed it after the video?
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 29 дней назад
There is a setting in the unit that will allow you to adjust the restart temperature within 2 to 4° so sent it to the highest temperature or 4° over what you want your temperature to be and that will work for you. Hope that helped.
@mikebrowning6997
@mikebrowning6997 29 дней назад
That's a good idea. Thanks. Today, I had a P4 error which indicates Auto Power off due to no flow rate. This makes sense because my pump has a 10 hour timer. I would assume the heat pump would restart (if needed) when the pool pump comes back on, but I haven't confirmed this. Do you leave your pump running 24 hours per day to provide a flow to the heat pump so that it won't turnoff?
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 29 дней назад
I leave mine on all the time, but there is a setting in there. I think it’s number four. You can set to automatic restart your heat pump so you would put it on zero instead of one or vice versa. I can’t remember hope that helped.
@mikebrowning6997
@mikebrowning6997 28 дней назад
@@Aussaliers According to the manual, after 3 P4 errors, the power has to be cycled. So if you have a pool pump that is on a timer (like me), it's impossible to use unless I hit the reset button every morning. It was designed to work with a constant flow of water. You are correct about the setting, but after 3 P4 errors, it can't recover automatically unless the power is cycled. I emailed the company to request a work around. It doesn't seem like I should have to leave my pump on 24 hours per day to use the heater.

Hey how long does it take for water to feel a little warm
@Aussaliers
@Aussaliers 2 месяца назад
You should notice a small difference in about a day-anywhere from 2-6 degrees depending on pool size and on the outside temperature. I’ve just had to drain and refill mine, about 10K gallons and it took about 5 days to heat above 80 degrees but we’ve been super hot in Utah the last few weeks (almost and sometimes over 100 degrees) so it heated quickly this time for me. The best way I think to make sure it’s heating ok is to hang the output hose over the edge of your pool for a day or two to make sure you have it at 17 gallons per minute. With your hand in your pool water and close to the heated water coming in you’ll notice a difference in temperature.

My pool is 2500 gallons and I started off at 67 degrees and it's gone up to 77 degrees in 24 hours. Is that normal to have it only gone up 10 degrees in 24 hours in your opinion?
