Good question - clocking the winch is not required for our MOD v2 bumper, you can reach the handle easily through access holes in the bumper. You do have to move the control box off the winch, but we have great kits to do that as well
@@vicedesigninc I am really thinking about getting one. It’s a toss up between yours and one other right now. It’s nice to know I would not have to relocate but I think if I left it on top it might be easier with the gear clocked forward to reach the control box. I have a new in the box Warn Zeon 12-s that I could use. Not a fan of having to open the hood to get to the control box. Would like to see it so the right front hole was utilized for it though.
@@MrMarkjenn great winch. The zeon has 5 bolts on the endcap so you could clock it 72 degrees forward. If you have a hemi truck, you could relocate the control box to within the bumper area (the eco-diesel is a little tight). The bumper was designed around removing the control box because of the height it adds to the winch, which ultimately decreases the ground clearance by having to position the winch so low. This keeps it high and tight and close to the frame for strength.
You can also get a wireless remote for the winch, meaning you could put your control box anywhere. I have mine in the engine bay and I find it easier to access and faster to plug in than reaching in a bumper. www.warn.com/wireless-remote-truck-suv-winches-90287
if you have a 19-24 2500 Powerwagon here's the kit for you: www.vicedesign.ca/collections/5th-gen-2019-2022-ram-2500-3500/products/slimline-reverse-led-light-kit-5th-gen-2019-2024-ram-2500-3500
Mine arrives tomorrow along with your backup light kit. I'm installing X-PRO Series | 5 Inch 174W LED Side Shooter Pod Lights with White DRL&Amber Turn Signal Lights. Does anyone know where to connect into the DRL and Signal wires?
I would if you’re running high PSI in your tires. I run a lower PSI on my 35s and it doesn’t shake as bad, vibrations are present big time in HDs. Maybe the blue loc-tite
It shouldn't be required if the incision is small enough. Its a double walled boot so its a bit of a labyrinth for water to get through. You could always add a dab of black Sikaflex if you cut the seal too large
Will this work on Ram 1500 Rebel with Air suspension? Any upgrade needed to suspension to support the additional weight? Will you need to repeat the installation process if the winch fails and needs to be replaced?
Yes it will! No additional upgrades needed. The winch and bracket add under 120lbs and the air suspension will automatically adjust to maintain the same ride height. The winch can be removed without performing the entire installation process. We recommend using the WARN VR EVO 10-s or 12-s for the best reliability and useability.
I bought the hidden winch mount for my gas Dodge and loved it. When I traded in that truck for my current Cummins Dodge I was upset that I could not transfer my winch over and I did not want a big bulky bumper just to accommodate a winch. I am so happy this kit now exists and will be buying one soon!!!
While it does partially cover some of the oversized air intercooler, there were no performance differences or intake temp differences after the installation. Our Skidplate system shown at 26:09 channels most of the air below and around the winch, and there is also an intake above the bumper. The engine radiator is located behind the grill between the headlights and is unaffected by this component.
Its on our priority list. We have one coming in for a hidden winch mount installation we'll get an engine mount drawn up then. The interior bracket should be the same as they do share console mounts.
my is arriving 4/8/24.i already have the wiring kit from auxbeam but not that new secure bracket.will have to clip some of the old wiring to get it to reach(additional wires)🤣🤣.will send you a vid.thanks for your help
Yup we sure do. Here’s the version that fits your 2018 rebel. www.vicedesign.ca/collections/hidden-winch-mounts/products/ram-rebel-2015-2018-hidden-winch-mount
The mounting kit with all the hardware is about 60lbs. The WARN VR EVO with synthetic line is 65 lbs. If you're running steel cable on the winch add about 25lbs.
@vicedesigninc Do you think there would be any issues on any of the front-end components of a stock Rebel with the added weight? I feel like I've seen somewhere that things may break when off reading due to the extra weight?
About to release one for the 4th Gens (2013-2018). We're starting to work on a diesel version for the 2019-2024 Cummins. Keep an eye out here or on our website www.vicedesign.ca
here's a video for the diesel option - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FzO8rn2MrCs.htmlsi=unxSEuL96jQDbLOl and if you want to buy one its available here: www.vicedesign.ca/collections/hidden-winch-mounts/products/hidden-winch-mount-5th-gen-2019-2024-ram-2500-3500-cummins
All you have to do to unlatch the headlight is open that little flap! You don't have to rip open the fender skirt! Do you guys know what a Gearwrench is? LMAO
The winch gets wired directly to the battery. The winch remote controls the switching of the contactors. You are able to duplicate the functionality of the remote with an in cab switch cab but we don't have a video for that. The WARN vr evo comes with a wireless remote so you don't really need to wire a physical switch.
So, just got my winch installed and went to unspool and then respool with the weight of the truck. Is it supposed to make random popping noises and feel hard? It’s a rope, not cable type line.
This should cheer you up. Diesel compatible option is now available - www.vicedesign.ca/collections/hidden-winch-mounts/products/hidden-winch-mount-5th-gen-2019-2024-ram-2500-3500-cummins
Its a bit more work to get it going on a 2009-2012 but it is possible, others have done it using this kit. Have to drill out a hole in the frame mount and cut an opening in your bumper. For the easiest install we recommend our Mod V2 high clearance front bumper -> www.vicedesign.ca/collections/bumpers/products/ram-1500-2009-2018-mod-v2-series-front-bumper
yes we make the same bumper specifically for the 1500 DT Bighorn - here's the link to see more photos and order it -> www.vicedesign.ca/collections/5th-gen-ram-1500-dt-rebel-2019-2022/products/mod-v2-front-bumper-5th-gen-2019-2022-ram-1500
Winch Red cable (positive) directly to the battery Positive (+) terminal, and Winch black cable (negative) directly to the battery Negative (-)Terminal. We recommend installing our control box relocation kit -> www.vicedesign.ca/collections/control-box-relocation-kits/products/ram-warn-vr-evo-control-box-relocation-kit
