Hey there, we're pickup up our first Tone 03 from you for a new shop but haven't dialed it in yet. Any recommendations using different brew vessels, such as v60, Kalita Wave, etc? Any preference?
On ours, also one of the 3 hopper metal short anchor lock pins is missing.... hope it didn't damage the grinder teeth.. I don't see a replacement part for these pins. I guess I'm going to have to try to see if a nail or used rivet pin will fit the hole and then super glue and baking soda into place(as well as the 2 remaining pins so we don't loose those). Thanks
Is the knob pull off/removable? Ours needs some electronics spray cleaner sprayed into the knob shaft.. Because the knob response has gotten bad/jumpy. Due to common age/oxidation of internal contacts... But unplugging and spraying with the knob installed, blocks the spray from getting where it needs to. Thanks
Hi, You insert the metal upgrade on the inside of the silicone, but on other videos I have seen it inserted on the outside, please can you advise which it is supposed to be?
With latest firmware it looks like the Owner password gets to the Calibration menu. Sadly, mine no longer wants to calibrate correctly. It shows 1801.1 g with no portafilter and starts up with grinding and then the green screen of death. I removed the load cell and reinstalled to no avail. So I've either got a bad load cell or bad firmware, though it worked just fine until now since calibrating 4 months ago.
Have you ever had the bolt that is holding the bottom burr carrier completely stuck from factory? Have not been able to release it, have used lubricant, correct sized scewdriver and given it everything.
I have this same issues. Even while using correct tools, screwdriver and natural heavenly given strength, feet in position and twisting with my core to provide maximum torque….i have unsuccessfully been able to remove the bottom burr. 🤷🏽♂️
My e65s GbW started acting up yesterday. It starts dosing without waiting to weigh the portafilter, and is even dosing with no portafilter inserted at sudden and random times. This just happened a few minutes ago. About 15 minutes after I ground a shot, the grinder came on and dosed about 4 shots worth of coffee before I could turn it off. I'll have to check the load cell as you outlined in the video. I carry it packed in its box in my cargo trailer to events. Might also be our high humidity right now. I may have to store it in air conditioned space between markets. I have two markets next week, so if I can't get this to work its back to a Niche zero and orion bean doser. Those are MUCH slower.
I'm guessing that the ethernet connection could be plugged into a network port and be run through a switch or does it need to be directly connected to a PC/Mac?
Congrats! Looks awesome. I been looking into buying a sample roaster for my farm. I was looking into the Ikawa but now I will spend some time learning about this one. So far I’m liking what I am seeing.
What is the duty cycle of the grinder, when using it in a traditional espresso mode? (hopper full, on demand grinding). For example, the K30 Air duty cycle is 4sec on, 16 sec off.
In our lab we are dialed in at the moment with a 5.5 second grind time, 20g. That's dependent on the density of the coffee, of course. We have not seen a ceiling in terms of back to back shots. The Bentwood has very good thermal integrity and stability as that relates to duty cycle.
You can grab one from our website. You can probably still get the job done without it, but it's alittle more difficult. The idea is you want to keep the rotating burr in place. You'd put a screwdriver through the inside of the chute. But be careful not to scratch the metal.
Looking for the etMax light w. Looks like you only have the filter variety. Is there an attachment you can buy to convert to a portafilter compatible one like the max light?
my burr dial seems not really connecting with anything, I may have loosened it too much? It’s more on the left than the middle, do you have a way to fix that?
E80 is great for speed and clarity of taste. E65S GbW is amazing because you get an extremely consistent dose every time. The E80 GbW is on the way - best of both worlds. You can pre-order via support@ghgbs.com.
