Hella Basque is all about the Basque Country and its diaspora.
My name is Anne-Marie, and I hope this channel helps you learn more about Basque culture. I mostly focus on topics of interest to the Basque American community, including sharing my journey to learn Euskara, the Basque language, and discussions with my Basque immigrant father.
Hella Basque is your home for all things Basque online.
I am O+.. i come from family of higher caste Punjabi "north indian" who have ABO blood type..we are last few thousand left most of us killed by hindu..
I am Mexican, on my fathers side I see more indigenous looks. My mom’s family on the other hand looks Spanish but not like people from Guadalajara, they have one of those uncommon names you listed. Now I understand why. Thanks for this!
This is fantastic!!! You are wonderful!! I ring Basque Country to the attention of my Art History students. We visit Bilbao and Frank Gehrey's museum. Doing my share to educate young people. Thank you!
The biggest success in language resurgence was Welsh! When they discovered Welsh was still spoken in a forgotten colony in PANTAGONIA they felt compelled to relearn it! There is a town called... Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch! Also, Ireland has a significant number of Rhesus Negative blood predominantly only found with the Basque!
My family has always said we are basque on my maternal side. It is true. I'm 32%basque. My grandfather parents moved to eastern Oregon in the 1930s. America wrote the last name down completely wrong, so I'm going to look into that further.
I'm neither Basque or Spanish, but, if I'm not mistaken, anything ending in -aga. (In addition to the others in the comments, there's Luzarraga. I knew a man with this name. He was amazed that I knew it was Basque.)
I just landed on your content after diving into more of my family heritage and culture. My last name is literally Basque. Not sure if having Basque as my last name means anything specific but my ancestry composition indicates that I am 88.4% from the Basque regions (72.6% on the French side and 15.8% the Spanish side). Very interesting to learn more about my ancestors - thank you.
