Man, I remember getting this game after playing OoC religiously and the feel was so completely different. I was not at all prepared for what this game had in store for 10 yr old me.

For some reason, Final Hours gives me so much nostalgia. Even before I'd heard it, it gave me "what could have been" vibes. I'm Gen Z, for fuck's sake. I didn't grow up with this music, so why am I remembering non-existent childhood memories?!

Each day evokes a detailed emotional scene for me. Day 1: I get the image of a bustling Clock Town. Preparations are being made for the Carnival of Time, you can hear the hammers pounding against nails and wood. You see children running around, heavy-footed without a care in the world. Day 2: Then comes the rain. You see a lone woman under the shade of a parasol. She wanders around town before arriving at the pond. She sits on a bench, and lets her tears mix with the raindrops falling on her face. Anju is breaking down, all alone on a bench in the laundry pool. She feels so alone, so isolated at the disappearance of her fiancé. Unbeknownst to her, he is watching her nearby, trapped in the body of a child, concealing himself out of shame. 2 lovers, so close, yet so distant. Day 3: Things have gotten tense. The moon is most definitely closer than before. Some people have decided to flee, the workers have stubbornly decided to stay in town for the sake of tradition. The guards, reluctant to stay, decide to uphold their duties and defend the gates of the town. They pledge themselves to their duties, despite their fears. Final Hours: Reality has set in. The often eager postman clenches his head, shackled by his responsibility, his purpose. All the while, his better judgement urges him to flee with his life. The once bold and wise swordsmaster cowers in the storage room of his dojo. It’s dark, deep and secluded, he feels some semblance of false security here, but he can’t help but accept that his death is near. He is paralyzed with fear. One of the workers takes shelter in an old abandoned house on the beach. He prays this house can serve to protect him, but he’s uncertain how effective it truly will be. Hope is lost in Termina.
