Might be able to modify a Bant Auras deck to include this combo, and make a more robust deck. Stuff like Sheltered by Ghosts. It would probably just make that version weaker though, lol.
you should try running Gold Rush! it can help you storm off 'cause it's mana neutral if you copy it once and mana positive if you copy it twice, plus having treasure makes it easier to cast spells in 3colors. i've been doing it in explorer with rotpriest ivy and beamsplitter mage for awhiiile and if you find you're low on creatures, you could look into baral and kari zev
This is a great combo because you can sac the doomsday so you're not drawing cards....here's an important bit EVERYONE missed.. If you pull your win con pieces in your opening hand and you don't shuffle your d library, you are guaranteed to draw your win con when you drop doomsday...that's why it's all but 6😂
I tried a Jund version with this idea with Smuggler's Surprise. I was cutting all Mid Range cards and replaced them purely for draw engine and removals. I kept virtue of Persistence as optional alternative to reanimate when self casting is needed.
That's the real problem with decks like this. Sure it's neat, but if you're going for a two card insta-win, you're better off just going with Golgari Vraska. You get the added benefit of having a midrange deck that isn't terrible alongside it which can win games even if it doesn't combo.
21 game loss streak with this "deck" if you can even call it that. It was a waste of my wild cards and a waste of my time. Either do better in the future or don't play ranked because this isn't a ranked deck, it's garbage.
I learned some spicy things from this channel so here is my gift in return. I believe this deck list has the most outs to a turn 2 kill in standard possible. Including a turn 2 kill where we only need 1 land. That's right, we can miss our turn 2 land drop and still dunk our opponent. It's a double leyline gruul fling deck. 4 Cacophony Scamp 4 Callous Sell-Sword // Burn Together 4 Gaea's Might 4 Giant Growth 4 Heartfire Hero 4 Leyline of Resonance 4 Leyline of the Guildpact 4 Might of the Meek 4 Monastery Swiftspear 4 Slickshot Show-Off 4 Turn Inside Out 2 Mountain 2 Forest 4 Copperline Gorge 4 Karplusan Forest 4 Thran Portal 1 Land turn 2 kill Turn 0: Leyline of Resonance+Leyline of the Guildpact Turn 1: Untapped land+Cacophony Scamp Turn 2: Gaea's Might+Combat+Sacrifice trigger to the face Guildpact gives us all 5 land types so Gaea's Might gives +5/+5 and is copied due to Resonance making our scamp 11/11 on turn 2 with only 1 land in play. This is wild to me, this is only 4 cards+1 land and doesn't require a sell sword fling!!! I think Leyline of Resonance should have been banned before the set released... I haven't been able to play much since DSK release but so far my win rate with this deck in ranked has been >50%. edit: the main thing this deck is missing is a way to recycle extra lands+leylines for more cards
I think this deck badly needs some draw+discard spells to be able to put your uncastable cards into the graveyard, as well as some other way to reanimate permanents besides the Portal. To make room for that some of the less important bomb-cards such Unraveler and perhaps even Etali may have to go. Nice way to make use of the manifest dread mechanic though!
Seems less consistent than Bant Toxic. Since sideboards and even maindecks are gonna have even more enchantment removal this format, even quick Leyline kills seem tricky. Therefore, I think this works much better in BO1.
I’m still running this deck, and with Duskmourn I swapped out Leyline + Gaea’s Might for Leyline of Resonance + Turn Inside Out (Everyone’s favorite duskmourn cards lol) It’s actually quite the upgrade because going from +5 to +3+3 we enable the Minion and the Scamp + Thud combo (now deals 21 damage instead of 18). And even without the Leyline, Turn Inside Out still gives +3, which is useful in some cases, unlike Gaea’s might.
Have you tried this with the hauntwoods shrieker instead of the long river lurker? he provides continuous manifests and can still flip things up, well creatures at least.
Thank you for this budget deck. After struggling in Diamond 2 for weeks with a 48% win rate White Angels deck, this one got to me into Mythic pretty easily. You have a new subscriber.
I played this card today and I 100% agree this needs to be banned. Here is the deal. You don't put 4 of them in the deck. You put 2-3. Sure, it won't be as consistently in the opening hand, but this really mitigates the main downside of that card - drawing it early. But potential turn 2 kill is not the main reason for the ban. In longer control matchups if (and thats a big if) they are able to stabilize, leyline become the best draw in you deck. So not only this is nuts if it is in you opening hand, it can also serve as a topend for the deck to refuel it after you run out of steam. There is no downside.
