The bff household may not have been intentionally queer in the slightest, but because I didn't want want to choose who should date Travis, I put the 3 in a poly relationship! They now have a teen daughter together.
the animal enthusiast trait annoys me because of a glitch where if your sim previously had the trait before, even if you remove it it will still give you the negative moodlet for not seeing animals in a while I believe the geek trait does this too, ea really needs to fix this game 😭
Well, at least those binders are realistic. I mean if binders would hide more, aka if tey were too small, they would cause severe breathing issues and potentially permanent damage to your chest. So they may not bind much, but as a binder user myself, I think it's a good representation :]❤
You're forgetting half of the traits effects like high metabolism makes you live much longer and essence of flavor makes food never spoil. Alluring is garbage tier, as there are easier ways to succeed in romance with a sim, vampires, celebrities and even spell casters can do so with a single glance, without ever needing this trait.
I find that the cheerful trait is really useful for reducing the risk of death by anger or death by embarrassment, and can also be good for if you want a really friendly sim
There's a few extra milestones I feel like nobody really knows how many milestones are actually are and we can't really find it on Google. Thank you for showing me the basics.
The ffxiv references in growing together automatically makes it gayer. I choked when I saw the Hythlodaeus anime drawing on that art display. Love that purple husband guy
Caleb aint gay, when my vampire sim married him he called her and asked if he could go on a date with this old lady from cottage living whose always grumpy... he really wanted to ditch my hot vampire for the old hag 😂
Neither one is a great value for your money in my opinion but if you're set on buying one growing together has more stuff. Definitely get it on sale. I would only buy parenthood for the furniture
@@SimberPlays I have like few options in my list are growing together which is probably not going to get it after your advice. Other list include high school cats and dogs I already have university last month. Right now they are having another special sale going on so was planning to get maybe highschool?
@@AdrianM1k between growing together and high school years I'd probably choose high school years but that's just me. It's a bit lacking too sadly, but so are most of the recent expansions
I haven’t gotten far enough into the video yet to see what you say about the outdoor Retreat aspiration, but that is one of my favorites as it dramatically decreases sleep time in tents. Like nothing can beat it not even a fully upgraded expensive bed. My sim can go from passing out to full energy in 2.5 hrs from sleeping in a tent with this trait. For comparison, based on my testing fully upgraded beds (even expensive ones) are a little under 6 hrs from 0 to full energy! They also get some energy gain from sitting around on camping furniture (like if sitting around a campfire) and positive noodles from sleeping in tents, using tarp or outdoor showers, and sitting on camping furniture.
You missed a sim in the Growing Together pack, I can’t remember their name or their gender/pronouns but they are canonically asexual! They have the ace flag in their room and they have ace flag colored nail polish on.
Erratic Was Called Insane In the English Version? In Spanish, It Was Always Called "Erratic", Which, Well, I Found Funny At Least And about the Neurodivergent thing, I mean, It Holds SOME things Neurodivergent People Do, but only SOME, The Rest Do Feel Like a Person Who Has Enough On Their Plate For Them To Not Need Any Further Criticism But Not Towards Neurodivergent People, Really.
Evil is so fucking annoying. When my sim is having the PERFECT conversation with someone then they randomly choose to insult them which makes the conversation awkward and it infuriates me
The inconsistency between frame presets annoys me so much! I think it's one of the reasons sims 4 genetics are messed up, too. You can see what your sim would look like w/ the 'same' presets on the opposite frame when you change their frame in gender settings & keep everything else the same, and usually for me their entire jaw, chin & lip area looks entirely different, and *those* are the genetics that are inherited when they have offspring of the opposite frame. I'm pretty sure I've heard of some other upcoming life sim games that are getting rid of the frame locks for their characters, and I'm so glad-- they're so unnecessary. I hope (knowing it's probably futile) that a similar decision will be made with the sims 5.
You don't eat the Llama. You use the wool to cross-stitch! As far as Errands, you bake the pie for the other sim. You just need a cake to blow out the candles, to age up. He doesn't have to eat it. Sorry, this video has mistakes in it.
I wish that the medical wearables came with a little bit of gameplay to them instead of having your Sims just wear them and "pretend" that they have those disabilities, but I guess we can only dream or rely on modders to make it happen.
I get it but I love all the traits because you can use all of them in so many storytelling cause I really want to try hard and make some cause I've loved sims since 10ys old but I love learning more about sims from everyone 🥰💜
Companion's actually OP. The two interactions I've found are Share Burdens and Lend Emotional Support. Share Burdens is kind of good: it allows your married sims to split needs, so if one has 25% sleep and the other has 100% it'll split them both to ~62.5% sleep. It's kind of niche, but very powerful in those cases. Lend Emotional Support on the other hand is insane: it HARD ERASES any negative moodlets. I haven't found a limit to the moodlet duration, but I've tested it by killing a sim on the lot and just instantly erasing the 2 day Sad +2. I don't play with cheats/mods, so any trait that effectively emulates a cheat is an instant S-tier for me. Same with Shrewd (+5% weekly interest that stacks), Potion Master (+100 to any mood for 4hrs), and most of the celebrity perks and "no-decay" traits
YEAH! The game IS very annoying about how BINARY it is. I'm agender. I wish we had more voice types that felt more ambiguous. I wish there was an easy way to decide if the sim had boobs or not - where is THAT gender option? And where is the facial hair option? I wish there was an androgynous base sim. That's what I'd pick for myself. Also the androgynous model would be good for teens - children only have one model, why not flesh out the teenage stage and make young teens this androgynous too? Have the puberty happen sometime during the teen stage instead? The child -> teen ageup is like an instant puberty and it's so bad. And my game is not in English - I STILL CAN'T CHOOSE PRONOUNS. I also have multiple simselves of both frames because none of them feel 100% right. screams But yeah, I still love that I can make my sims definitely aro/ace... and as an aro/ace person, that was great. I had no way to set that earlier; previously, every sim was basically allo, and if someone flirted with them, they'd flirt back, and seeing them in the Flirty mood was always so cursed.
43:17 so you’re saying it’s very lacking in gameplay, and it’s also very lacking in… gayplay? 🤭 (Btw love the video, once I’m done I’m watching the follow up, honestly I’m still disappointed in the lack of labret piercings, which is canonically the gayest piercing)
as someone who speaks danish (a bit of Swedish too) your pronunciation of blå haj actually killed me. and calling it blå haj when it would actually be blåhval cause its a blue whale not blue shark💀 16:01
Lol I have since learned that the way people had been pronouncing it here is incorrect, though I'm not sure how well I could pull off the correct pronunciation still
As someone with severe mental issues, if you don't like the erratic trait, there are other neurodivergent traits that you can download as mods. If you don't like it, don't use it. Also, let's not throw around the ableist label because then people won't take us seriously when something actually is ableist. Showing your ignorance toward mental issues on your platform is pretty ableist because the erratic trait is pretty accurate for people who can't regulate their emotions as easily as others can (ex. people with bipolar or borderline personality disorder) and instead of noting that, you act appalled by what the trait entails, showing that you have a bias against those with mood disorders and those who struggle with emotional dysregulation. I use the erratic trait all the time for my sim because it's accurate for me. There's a difference between ableist and accurate.
Does anyone know if there is a glitch with the dog/cat lover traits? I have a couple with a dog and it keeps offering them to pick up the cat lover trait even though the only animal they both know and interact with is their dog lol
I fully vote for City Living, it includes a simlish Tegan and Sara song which makes the game playable, now I see why people say TS4 is incomplete without DLCs
i think one thing that could really improve some of these customization issues with keeping a character's style through aging or transition could be implementing a smarter algorithm that looks at all of your character's outfits and chooses something similar. like if you have a child sim who wears dresses, when you age them it should be able to detect that pattern and randomly choose outfits with dresses and skirts when you age them. this could also work for when you have a sim with a specific aesthetic or a color scheme
It depends on what length you have life stages set to. You might have aging off, but you can make them age up by baking a cake and then putting birthday candles in it. An adult can help the infant blow out their candles and they'll become a toddler
While getting the Platinum on the Sims 4 on the PS4 I made myself an lived as Vegan as possible(Vegan 7 years in real life) felt I managed better than expected. Nice video.🌱🖖🎮
6:34 Always wondered how Carl's Sim Guides got the exact % of each xp boost thing in the game, from clubs to moods and traits. Hope they add them in the wiki some day
I think Carl goes into the actual game code and looks at the individual…modules? Chunks? Commands? Whatever you call the units in which it is programmed. He goes under the hood, so to speak.
