This never gets old. Tim played on the local scene in my hometown for years and always provided a lot of inspiration for the other players in the area. Amazing talent and heck of a nice guy as well.
My Bear and I used to go see Jack, and Barb and we loved Jack singing. Every once on a while Gene Watson would stop by and we'd all play and sing. Great times in Hoopeston when it was the real Sweetcorn Capital of the World. They have both gone on now. Along with my Shannon. And I am a sad old man missing my Shannon Marie.
Wow! Incredible playing. Cool guitar! What Motownn record did you embed on the guitar? Your thumb device is better than using slants with the slide. Very clever.🤠🎶🎵🎸
This video and Tim Wallis is a testament to the fact that so many fantastic guitar players are unknown to the world. Only a tiny percentage of these great players ever have an opportunity to be "discovered". This is why when people say things like "Who's the best guitar player ever?" and other ridiculous questions/statements, those that know anything about the guitar and the countless different styles being played by different people, know that question cannot even be attempted to be answered!! As a mediocre guitarist myself, I have met many guys that played unbelievably well, having played their entire lives and even gone to their grave, while even the people closest to them really had no clue or understanding of the brilliance of their playing ability! And to you aspiring guitarists out there? If you start to get a bit arrogant or if you start to think "You're all that" when it cones to your playing? Take a trip into any big city, and meet the guys sitting on park benches, street corners, or even in the music shops, and just start listening. Why? Because its the quickest and best way, to be brought back down to reality, when you see how you compare to some of these others. Its to bad that so many great musicians never het their music heard. And while recent history has given us the internet which helps some to show the world their playing, the bulk of them remain hidden to the world in general.
