I prefer distilled. When you make tea with reverse osmosissed water, it doesn't absorb the tea properly and it's far lighter in color than with regular water or distilled. It's a thing. You can read about it online.

I have the same issue. The problem I'm having is i cant drill a hole thru the left over rod. Do you recommend a certain drill bit? my drill bit just spins and barly makes a dent in the rod.
Definitely needs a titanium or some kind of machine bit. Sometimes you can use a punch and tap on a piece of the broken rod. It may back out that way was well.
