@@emanuelmota7217 thank you she’s an absolute dream to fly. She’s about 101 inch wingspan and it’s flying on a 3w 60cc engine. Currently swinging a 24x8 menz prop. AUW wet is about 14kg /30 pounds. It’s been built really light and the engine pulls it around the sky lovely. Thanks for your kind comments too and taking the time to watch the flight. 🤩🤛🙏
Alright new stuff ;) I have been laying in the second layer of the balsa in the gull section (top of wing) Man that is some interesting fit and piecing work , Takes so many pins its crazy.
@@foodstick sorry for the wait. This Heinkel has taken over my life the past few months and completely forgot to post these videos. Fantastic news. I bet it takes a fair amount of work to get those curves right. Plenty of weights to hold it down. It’ll be worth it in the end. Your gonna love flying it 🤛👌🤩
@@CheifyRC Wow the Heinkel is yours? I thought maybe you had filmed it for others.. Great project and being a twin that size I can imagine the work involved.. Was good to see the new Corsair vids as well.
@@foodstick I confess I don’t own it myself but have the luxury of flying it. I’ve done the final work to get it flying. Completed all the test flights and displayed it last weekend at the LMA Sleap show. It’s been a long 3 months. 🤭
Chiefy, did you end up mounting the wing tabs into the center spar section like the plans? One bolt ..I think the plans actually call for a spring device to hold the pin in position. I was thinking a bolt and blind nut setup.. trying to keep it simple and light.
@@foodstick hey fella. Mines as per the plan. The outer panel is secured in with just one pin shaped as an L and undercarriage clamps used to secure in place. Here’s a link to these so you know what I mean. www.rcworld.co.uk/acatalog/Undercarriage-Clamps-Single-6SWG-Pk4-F-RAA1055.html#SID=438 I was worried about it at first but it works a treat and holds the outer panels in just fine. Using a bolt and a blind nut will be equally as good. One thing though the channel on the centre section is a tight fit so bolting them together could close it up enough to make it hard getting the outboard panels off. In the winter the wood swells just a smidge which makes them difficult to get on or off. 🤛best of luck matey and I’m looking forward to the maiden already 🤩👍
@@CheifyRC I had thought about using an L shaped pin and strong magnets, two on the back of the spar, two on the block attached to the Lpin.. I think it will work...
Looked at your use of a landing gear strap, and I don't think it can be much simpler and reliable than that, A person could even use a Allen wrench of the right size if they didnt want to bend wire.. Are there any really good forum boards you post on? I am on rcscalebuilder a lot..
Fine flying considering that wind! If I ever get the time to build the models I want to build, I think I don't think I would have the bottle to fly at shows - the pressure to fly in strong winds with a model that took you years to build!
Thanks for your comment. It’s purely a safety issue wheeling the model out from the pit area. Once clear we can release it and taxi to the starting position.
@@airbornesoldier8104 thank you 🙏 it’s more the model than me. It’s flies so well. Just a big floater she is at 15ft wingspan. It’s a beast. More test flights tomorrow as the weather here in wales 🏴 is looking good. Fingers crossed for the sign off. 🤛👌
@@amilcarrossi6293 one day it will have 3 bladed props. These flights are to just prove the model in the air. No we know how good she flies we can invest a bit more time and money doing it up. This model has been 20 years in the making. 🫣
@@remy7009 we are working on that at the moment. Just trying to get the sign off for displaying it at the shows. Hopefully she will debut at the next LMA show at Sleap the end did this month and it’ll have full historical markings applied then.
