To Windy knot ; Your snobbish attitude, stinks. Would it make you feel better, if Brian used a little Smaller one & Called it an indicator?! It's all a State of mind 😃! As long as we, as fly fishers, don't act like we're accomplishing something Creator than those who use a Spinning, Baitcasting or Centerpin (same design as a fly rod) with either a Baitcasting or Spinning Reel!! It is all but a State of Mind! Nice Fish and Video
Not putting pressure on the upper hand. I have not broken a rod on a fish, except once years back fighting a chinook with the butt angle too steep. I have not done that in years, and I do know about rods being broken managing a fly shop and working in the industry for over 20 years. People break rods and they do not spontaneously break like many claim. Tight lines!
Horrible casting. You are a guide too..? Do you guide tree fishing or something? Your arrogant comment about knowing everything makes your casting even worse. You recommended switch rods in the comments because true Spey fishing is all about timing, something you suck at.
Irregardless of what a few dumb-nuts have to say, I have found your videos to be have been created well and your fishing skills excellent. I think we have a case of jealous discontent from the immature roosters.
Why all the dislikes? Is it because of the indicator? Well this genie is out of the lamp and not going back. It is a sure thing or so it is preached by its adherents. In this competitive arena, with diminishing returns, everyone is looking for an advantage. Seems the current favorite is hard/soft egg beads under an indicator which the Great Lakes fishermen developed for their lake-run rainbow/salmon fisheries. More effective than showing your dislike on this subject is to give voter support towards legislating barbless hooks on all our anadronomous fisheries. ...And legislate the banning of jet sleds from beyond the lower river mouth - my personal pet peeve. Jet sleds destroy critical spawning redds with their hydraulic jets, thus contributing to the fisheries steady decline.
I don't think it has anything to do with the indicator. There are a few "elitists" who are against indicator/bobber fishing but they are a very small minority. I think it's because he is fishing less than ideal water + no hookups in the video. A lot of people don't realize that it is worthwhile to cover water like this because fish will sometimes hold in the edges of fast current.
So it is called stack mending...? Have to research it. In any case, try as I might I can't fathom how to do it. You on the other hand do it very well. Over the many videos you have produced, I find your fishing skill set to be superb. Thanks for the insights.
WOW what a catch!!.I like your video, ,..because you like fishing..You might like this video on "Herring Run Video" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7dirlWUlDCQ.html. Windy Knot I could care less about your pompous opinion. Techniques are techniques, and no better of a way to fish a bedrock crack in the river. Trolls are always wanting to troll someone's good experience. The backlash of social media.....
