Typical Protestant responses thinking they are smarter than two gigantic churches with a plethora of knowledge that has been handed down generation after generation over the course of TWO THOUSAND YEARS. Thank god I am not an ignorant Protestant anymore. Sometime you just have to admit that you are NOT smarter or more knowledgeable than others. You want to fix your car? You go to a mechanic. You want to learn about science? You go to a scientist. You want to learn about Christianity? Guess where you DONT go? You DONT go to some random German guy who threw a hissy fit. So if we can’t tell the Saints “pray for me” so why you are asking to your close one to pray for you?. Have your mother ever pray for you when you asked her? Why is she praying for you if you can pray directly to God? Why is she interfering?

This is not a controversial question. Very simple. The Catholic Church came first becos Jesus gave us the Church . Then the Bible came later. We give our gratitude to various Popes who first authorized some priests to collect and transtlate and make them in one book - Bible. Without the Catholic Church there is no Bible. Jesus gave us a Church. The Catholic Church gave a Bible. Is the question controversial?
Robert, i think we don't need to pray for His Holiness, the Pope. The Pope doesn't need your prayer at all becos God Himself wouldn't answer your prayers as well. Mary is not the mother of God. Jesus was before Mary and therefore he is before her. God has no mother. This is heresy. you exemplify Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. So, stop saying Mary the mother of God. It's wrong. You think that Mary is queen of heaven and that she actually does miracles (which is Satan in disguise) and remained a virgin. She is the patron saint of the drug cartels (look it up), it was not her but Satan who went to Lourdes because war broke out soon after. Nothing good happened from that visit. You humble yourself and admit that the Catholic church worships idols. Mary had other children. She was called blessed among other women but not the blessed mother of anyone but Jesus. You grow up. We will not bow down to Mary your idol. God will not know you when you are in his presence.

I don't believe this because the Bible say we should come before the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find help in Time of need, not to go to saint to pray or mary. Jesus Christ is our mediator btw us and God so he is the one we will meet to ask for forgiveness not saints and mary.this is contradictory to the words of Jesus Christ himself. Peace!
I actually got a very clear explanation from one of the priest about this matter and I understood it very well what the Pope wanted to say through the message. People are just misunderstanding it.
The Writings came first and the people put together the canon along with Jews so God's word came first. If only the church would keep what the word of God says but instead came up with traditions that are not Biblical like veneration of saints and veneration of Mary.
As per Our Bible there is only One Mediator between God the Father and Mankind. ie Son of God Jesus christ. People tried to worship Apostle Paul when he healed one man in the name of God Jesus. I remember when I started praying to god and Jesus i was having a severe panic attack and I immediately thought to see if those prayers worked so I looked up the prayer for anxiety and when I said the prayer a wave of calmness wash over me and I felt the Lord's presence I felt all my fear anxiety disappear in an instant from that day forward I started praying to this day I'm forever grateful for the Lord's help with my anxiety my anxiety and fear no longer has power over me thanks to God and Christ add I can't wait for the day to thank them both in person if it wasn't for them I probably would have passed out from that panic attack God is a truly loving and caring heavenly father to us at Jesus Christ is our great Lord and savior I can't wait to see our Lord's return it will be the greatest thing to ever greatest event to ever witness I bet when are Lord returns are hearts will be filled with love and joy I thank God and Jesus Christ for everything that I care about.
