First mistake was buying something without knowing anything about them (Comics) as this is more art than science, if you are very lucky you might break even over a long time period. In my opinion based on what you briefly showed us you really over-paid for those comics...
Well a lot were un bagged which is a bad sign that they weren’t of great value. Keep trying but definitely haggle more with price and era. 1990s not a great era for comics.
Some decent potential in there if you lot up some runs/story arcs together. Like at 8:02 I can practically guarantee no one cares about Timber Wolf, but if you bundle issues 1, 2 and 3 together someone would probably pay a a buck or two to read it. As for what I've noticed: 6:25 I saw a Predator "P" in that "movie" category! Keep an eye out for certain Aliens and Predator books. Also make sure to really go through that "Horror" category! Some indie horror titles can go for decent money (Deadworld #10 would probably be the biggest example) 9:32 Omaha....... is an "adults only" title. Some adult only titles can sell for decent amounts because complete runs are pretty difficult to attain (quite a niche market)
Bundle up the Thors, Namor and other recognizable titles are sell as bundles on eBay. I did see Superman:The Man of Steel #18.. 1st appearance of Doomsday…minor Key. Sell that by itself on eBay.
I'm an avid comic collector myself. I don't think it's cool of you to proudly state on your title that you stole from this guy. Really? Let's think about that. Plus, in the video, you practically show in words your step by step method of doing your purchase. Like why? Keep it to yourself unless you want to teach others how to smooth talk and "steal" a deal. Just speaking as a buyer AND a seller... I know all the sales man talk...you did them all, don't be so proud. If I was the seller, I might have told you to kiss my ass when said $500 plus those 2 vases. I'm sure you got some good comics out of the boxes. Some ppl here saying you overpaid is ridiculous, or they all bunch of cheap MFers.
Why do people who know nothing about comics find stuff like this when I’m always searching 🥲 Im sure there are high dollar books in the other boxes but you only showed like 50 books ugh my area never has anything.
I think you did alright there, even if you sell most at 50 cents each, you'll double your money. And I expect there are a few other minor keys, you could sell some small limited series as sets, like the Howard the duck, man of steal and get a little more. I expect there are a few other minor keys like man of steel 18.
Some of the titles that may be valuable or Howard the duck, for, action,, any detective comics, and any popular recent movie marvel or DC titles. Moon Knight is on fire right now.
as far as that box goes i would of passed or offered a third of what he was asking per box...it's going to be hard to get your money back just based off that 1 box...should of shown us all 6 boxes because who knows maybe there was a gem in another box next time I'd bring someone with you who has knowledge on comics or don't offer too much for something you don't know much about.
Comics I saw are all worth $2-3 each I think, I saw a 1st appearance of Doomsday too which can go for a fair bit in mint condition. Superman Man of Steel 18
U def overpaid. I only saw one 10 to 15 dollar book in all u showed. All the rest u showed were common books def not worth much at all. An even bigger problem is that most seemed unbagged and boarded. It's a lot of work bagging all those and the cost is very high. Before u make another big purchase like that u need to do some homework. Ur def gonna come out on the short end on this collection unless there's some gold we didnt see but honestly the collection looked cherry picked to me. Most I would have paid would be $200 max.
Usually I like to pay between 10-20 cents a comic when buying in bulk. When not knowing alot about comics especially if there's good books you can pay more but you didnt really know what you're looking through. Its definitely a learning experience enjoy going through them and sorting
I did, and I considered it. Fortunately I don’t think this guy actually knew too much, because nobody really buys 78’s at all any more. He was talking about jazz and blues being valuable, when it’s the more modern stuff like rock, hip-hop that’s the most valuable. I have gone through most of it and there are several key issues still. Maybe, but there’s only a few ways to learn and become an experienced comic buyer, and hands on is the best way to learn IMO! It’s better then having purchased all of these books at retail when they came out!
@@epicestate Best way to learn since you don't know what to look for is watch a bunch Very Gary Comics videos, and others like Longbox Love Affair. You'll see and learn a lot from videos like that. Not looking through the boxes is no way to learn how to be a good comic buyer.

I know this is two years after the fact but I'm sure I saw the first appearance of Lobo in there. I've seen that one go for 300-400 bucks depending on condition. So, even if the rest get sold for a buck a piece so what?
I didn’t see anything of value in this collection. Maybe the Sandman book has some value. That guy’s kids collected crappy books. If the DCEU gets their act together maybe some of those DC books will go up in value. But to me it looks like you over paid. But in fairness to you it looks like you only showed one long box but it just looking at the dividers there’s not much value in this collection. Too bad you didn’t have anyone with you that knows comics. They could’ve saved you $350
There’s quite a few marvel comics in here that weren’t shown. Probably a whole long box full. I’ve been offered $1200 wholesale buy back from my local store, so not a bad investment, just not as good as it could have been lol
The thumbnail says you “stole” six boxes of comics. The title says “insane” deal. Dude, you’d be lucky if you broke even if you tried to part that stuff out. You’d be even luckier if you turned around and tried to sell the entire lot for $500 to get your money back. You got ripped off. LOL.
When you have time put everything in order. Download Covrprice app and find out what exactly you have. The app is easy to use. Keep on mind some books have 1st 2nd 3rd 4th and even 5th printing and some are more valuable than others. With the app you will find Key books with first appearances Bag and board those books. If you look for a book by name and issue number and it's not the exact book there are books with varient covers nit always worth more but can be any other question feel free to ask.
