Yes, Baguio is overrated. We locals hope that fewer tourists come to visit because our local life is disrupted 😂 Just kidding! You should leave the central area to truly appreciate Baguio. Do some hiking or climb the mountains!
Agree close to 100% Prefer Thailand because accommodation food ground transportation health care are my top priorities. 2 months twice a year is all I need in Thailand or the Phillipines New 5 year digital nomad visa gives me 6 months for 10,000 baht which is all I need. I agree Beaches and natural beauty the Phillipines wins but it is offset by the poverty and garbage. Finally Pattaya has more bang for the buck and much better restaurants Bars, bargirls alcohol ladyboys I just ignore them. They dont bother me. I just shop eat work online. I am not looking for a girl or wife I have one already.
As someone who grew up in Baguio and lived in Manila for 10 yrs, i disagree, its true that theres a lot of people in Baguio but i bet those are tourist not a native who lived here. Some places might be crowded (main city) but not for the most part. Living expenses here is much cheaper than Manila, climate wise and even the pollution. When you went to Manila, you might been in places like Makati or BGC but never really been in places like Tondo, Divisoria etc.
I have traveled (short vacations so not naive) but never to Thailand or Philippines. I have this sort of romantic notion of Thailand due to it's Buddhism. Appreciate your insights about both places. Slow travel next year and I will see for myself.
I am not a Filipino. But my wife is from there. I have there house. I have there family in upper QM. I don't know wahy happen you there. But Baguio is best city in Philippines. Low crime, friendly people, many attraction around, goood air, nice weather. Really i don't understand this video. Philippines and Baguio is my home.

I'm from Philippines and my choice is this, I picked Thailand for food, structure, nature same as Phils., also the people except english barrier. Its hard sometimes b'cause We have to find somebody to translate what we wantr but not all the time. The Philippines my beloved country, I loved it but some food are sweet, esp. the spaghetti, Italian style of cooking is my favorite. you add herds and wow!! it's good. Sold mine earlier this year after owning it for over 20 years. No mechanical problems ever and it was running 27PSI the whole time. All the rubber bushes were replaced to eurethane, I re glued the roof lining and the alcantara inserts in the front doors. Tune, Haldex upgrade, anti-roll bars , suspension , down pipe are a must (adjustable rear control arms when lowered too)
@@turbosandtalks a set of anti roll bars are the biggest change. The standard haldex sucks and the turbo inlet pipe has to be silicone (otherwise it collapses on itself). Diverted valves need to be aftermarket. About the down pipe - it splits in 2 and is a massive restriction. I went 3in from the turbo and the K04 wakes up
@@A43R3W I’m in Australia. I kept the standard K04 and it would maintain about 9L/100km normal driving. Much more with the foot down. Highway was really low (long 6th gear)
I am from Norway and shall have vacations in the Philippines besides other places in Baguio. This RU-vidr made video about Baguio telling that this city is overcrowded, but didn’t show any video of congestion. So I shall still go there and shall experience this city from my own eyes.
Go see it for yourself. This guy is full of crap. Someone pissed him off so he talks like this. I’m from Europe and I’ve been in Baguio. It’s far better for me than Manila. He says it’s most crowded city he has ever been to. I don’t know where he traveled but surely he didn’t much. It’s south east Asian place, its not not crowded obviously, but it’s incomparable with Manila, Cebu, etc.

I am looking to move to the Philippines in a year or so and cool weather is the most important thing to me. I am from Buffalo, NY where it snows a lot and I really don't like hot weather! That's why Baguio is appealing to me. Now, realistically, how many times in a year am I going to be out and about to see large crowds during the peak season of tourists? Probably only a few times as I am older but I do like a vibrant, night life vibe. Anyway, I can very easily handle large crowded cities since I lived in Tokyo for 17 years and had quite a few Filipina friends. It's called adapting to your environment. Nothing is perfect; and clearly everyone is different. And America is slowly dying and I need to get out so I am good where other people are generally happy and there is low crime. I also lived in San francisco for 2 years in the early 2000s and to see the extent to which it has fallen is eye opening.
Good food is definitely harder to find in the provinces. You can get so much more options and better service in metropolitan areas, like Cebu, Manila and Davao.
American incomes aren't always higher than western european countries. If you're going to recommend people go remote on a Western income, it's still better to trade in British pounds or Euros as they are valued higher and then just add the US as a market. For the majority of westerners, moving to the US is a worse decision than staying in Europe or moving to Asia on location independent income.
You said having a beautiful woman and kids is part of the American, I believe that part is dead. Most American women, rather have child support and keep the house and get a new boyfriend so it would be like having 2 men at the same time. A single mother in America, would do anything to have a new man, especially if he doesn't have kids. I'm single, no kids and the difference between how a single mother treats a man she wants Vs a woman with no kids are light years apart. Single moms try to be traditional while childless women are entitled due to feminism. I have no kids because I'm afraid I will end up very miserable just to not pay child support or could end up paying Child support. I was married once and after marriage things went bad, I said no more. You know what the judge said to me after he finalized the divorce? My divorce. The judge said I was now a free man. So basically my marriage was paying for a crime. What was my crime? To love a woman. As of today, I have not met or have made any effort to find love because I no longer believe in love. Anyway, my American dream is basically have my own stuff, do whatever I want and enjoy the freedom and work on myself to keep providing the things I want. I do have one night stands every now and then but I don't get attached. But like I said, it is not priority, the longer I go without sex, the more I feel I don't need it. I have been to Portgual, loved it, I could live there, great country, friendly people, good weather and food, but low wages indeed. In France we don’t call Portugal « Western Europe » but rather Southern Europe, even though Portugal and Spain are technically in Western Europe. Portugal is more comparable to Romania or Bulgaria than France or Germany, when it comes to the economy (no offense). But culture wise Portugal and Spain are closer to France and Italy.
Overly expensive ; I used to have a little Peugeot in France (206+ hdi 1.4 diesel) ; it didn't cost me more than 1000 EUR per year in maintenance, insurance and fuel.

This is about the same i spend on average on my remapped seat leon FR 1p 2.0 tfsi. Only difference is i only drive about 8000km max per year which makes it doable. I live in the Netherlands so fuel costs the same. Funny thing is i owned a 1.8t Skoda Octavia before this which i swapped myself to a APX engine (older version of the BAM, also k04 turbo etc) from a wrecked audi tt. It even had a 5 speed gearbox (the FR has a 6 speed) . It had a much better gas mileage than the tfsi engine although its an older engine (both running around 260 bhp) and the octavia had the drag coefficient of a brick 😂.... Maybe its full of carbon due to the direct injection. Honestly i think the 1.8t is superior to the 2.0 tfsi, keep good care of it because these will most likely go up in value (the S3)
The points made here are mostly valid. What i really disagree on is work culture and wages. Those two are connected. True, there are people which waste their life with lazy jobs at low efficiency doing a bad job, and that is exactly why they do not earn much. And this is "pofigism" he talks about. Its people which care little, have no initiative and do not put their head to the task at hand. But it depends on the job, company and people. Other points are true to some degree, however not predominant. Just keep them in mind as a foreigner. Those things happen and exist. There are no pink unicorns here, life is hard for many.
Problem is… pofigisti get low wages coz of their low efficiency, when hard working good employees become pofigisti coz of the low wages. It’s a vicious cycle, and wages are still low compared to the US and Western Europe. Other than that, employees are mostly treated as slaves in Russia, it’s way worse than in the West. You d’rather work remotely for a Western company making $$$ or have an online business in a Western market. If Russia wants to attract Western and Asian talents, some big changes will have to made sooner or later.
@@turbosandtalks I disagree. Pofigism mentality has little to do with wages (edit: they earn little, but even if they did earn more, they still would behave the same). I believe it is something like lack of self-purpose, which manifests as laziness and disrespect for people around them and disrespect for themselves. Kinda like heavy drinking, which is hard to cure, but can be prevented with proper direction.
Do people in the countryside in Russia have their own houses with land where they grow food? For example in many Balkan countries, many people own their land and raise cows, pigs, goats, chickens, and fruits/vegetables which they can eat all year round. Many of them even have their own water resources. Initially, they only need money to build a good house and invest in their own land. They usually do this little by little, and many of them work in Europe seasonally to send money back home. Some even have their own electricity from solar panels nowadays. I have family living like this over there and they seem to have more freedom even though they only make 400 euros a month. They don't need to buy food or water. Even if there's a war going on they aren't dependent on the state or other businesses to survive. Their culture and family life are way more intact than here in the West (I'm from Sweden). If there were an economic crash here or if we'd have sanctions like Russia have now, everyone would be starving because almost nobody is self-sufficient here. Is Russia similar to the Balkan way of life or do most people live in big cities like we do in the West?

These people are quite resilient indeed, but they live a very simple life. It's a good option if you don't have any ambition whatsoever and don't get bored easily. Young single women are plenty, so Russian men have a lot of choice and it's not unusual for them to get rid of their "older" wifes with kids to go bang younger women. Russia is more traditional in some ways, but not always. Most of russians i met abroad, complains about scams culture also (always be careful when you buy somethings) , and the lack of honestly of people in Russia. We don't realize that in France most of people doesn't try to scams you (of course there are but it's not the majority here)
