Anula Wijesundara is one of the rudest doctors I've ever encountered. When my father was admitted to Jayawardanapura Hospital, she made an incredibly insensitive remark to a trainee doctor, asking loudly, 'He isn't dead yet? I thought he would have gone by now.' ( 'මෙයා තාම ඉවර නැද්ද මම හිතුවා මේවෙනකොට ඉවර ඇති කියලා') This was said right in front of my father, who was fully conscious, and in front of our family. At the time, I was still in school and couldn't believe her lack of empathy. She seemed more focused on tasks like making beds in a strange manner than providing proper care. People like her shouldn't be doctors. I believe in karma, and while I don't care about her current position, I hope she faces the consequences of her actions.
its bloody awful, no fun at all. Also, Doctors, when you put your patient to sleep, as when you put them on a ventilator, please ensure you actually knock them out. Please dont just paralyse them and make them unable to communicate with you leaving them in incredible pain and suffering with no way out. After a few days the patient starts to go totally insane, they think they have died and gone to hell. I created a new reality to try and occupy my brain, i created hell where i was tortured and killed repeatedly only to come back to life paralysed where i would once again be tortured and killed over and over again...WHY? WHY DID THE DOCTORS DO THIS? WHY DIDNT THEY JUST PUT ME TO SLEEP? This seems like a big mistake the doctors made, only they said it happens quite often...er WHAT??????..im going to be having nightmares until the day i die. if you are supposed to be putting a patient to sleep then please PUT THEM TO SLEEP, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PATIENT CONSCIOUS AND PARALYSED.

Nice presentation madam. Keep it up. Hope to see once again with another fabulous presentation. You were so nice to us during our student days. I still worship my great mentors including you madam. ❤
Thank you very much. I would like to make a suggestion where the topics of the lecture are added to the title of the video, because it will be easier to search for them on youtube.
Many of Dr. Cronin's books are inspirational.. Another book relating to Doctors which inspired me was " The Cause you serve" by a Soviet Author about the same period as that of Cronin. Since the name of Dr. Philip Veerasingham came up - I was fortunate to come across his book " Tales of an enchanted boyhood From Alupola to Jaffna" in which he talks about Professor Dayasiri Fernando who had been the private surgeon of Hon.. Srimavo Bandaranayaka and had asked her once in lighter vein ' Madam have you regretted any decisions you took and implemented during your tenure as Prime Minister' ? She had thought for a moment and said ' Yes. The takeover of the Schools". !! The above I have used in my book ගුරු තරුවක් ( Foreword written by late Prof. Carlo Fonseka in 2019- possibly his last)- A biography on my father and his entire teaching career at Alutgama Vidyalaya. Anybody knows the contacts of Dr. Veerasingham?
