You can test the ignition coil by placing high-tension wire (from coil to distributor), the distributor end to suitable engine metal part, (in this video on valve cover) Place the wire 10mm from metal. if spark is strong, coil is good. If spark is only good from 5mm distance, coil is bad. test this both cold and warm engine, specially if engine stalls warm, or is backfiring into the exhaust. This Video is showing spark first with resistor, then without it.
That was a cold start (+12 Celsius).Can't start with a crank when it's warm, takes several round's even from starter to start the engine. Maybe a little bit of practice, that was my first time...

If I remember right, its grand cherokees snorkel, moulded in to wagoneer. too short as you can see, and wron angles. (if you meant that golden wagoneer)
Aluminium, like from Paddock spares. Have seen some where a do it you self kit also, littele bit cheaper. That one in my video is made from aluminium profile, only top part is "rolled" in curved shape It's the glass that is heavy on top tailgate, not the frame
that's a pity. I'd like to fabricate a new tailgate. Don't know how to start :-) Buying a new one is too expensive. Besides, people say aluminum ones are too light and not that rigid as those made of steel.
