Anshe Emet Synagogue is a sophisticated, urban congregation with a diverse, multi-generational membership. We take a dynamic approach to halachic matters and offer a variety of prayer services, the core of which is a formal service in the great Rabbinic and Cantorial tradition. We also provide a broad range of programming, which includes thought-provoking educational opportunities, presentations by speakers renowned in the Jewish world and fulfilling social justice projects.
The Anshe Emet Synagogue is one of the oldest Conservative congregations in Chicago. Founded in 1873, the congregation was originally located on Sedgwick Street. We have been at the present site since 1929. Anshe Emet has a long history of being a center for Torah study, cultural activity, and Israel and social justice advocacy.
Forgive my ignorance... Is ketuvim considered less important than other books such as the nevi'im. How come daniel who is very prophetic isnt included with the Nevi'im
Thanks so much! Great job :) You are welcome to hear our musical version of the candle lighting song. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TmNQrnYeRRE.html שנזכה כולנו להרבה הרבה ניסים וישועות! חנוכה שמח! 🕎
Thank you for this wonderful video. As a new Noahide ( left Christian church) I am always looking for videos about being a Noahide. Your video was very well done thank you
If I found a nice Jewish man I'd marry him if he asked I'm Christian and people would need to be ok with me being with a Jewish man if I were with one.
I work at an ice cream place everything is kosher except for the scoops to scoop you ice cream and the blenders for milkshakes what do I do to make them kosher or can that be kosher
Were the scoops new when they were first used with ice-cream and only with kosher ice-cream? I am not an expert but from what I know, for everyday use? If so, then wash them thoroughly, let dry for 24 hours, then tovel/immerse in a mikveh. For Pesach, they need to be kashered as in the video. Ther may be a question if the scoop has a plastic/non-metal handle. Also, the video shows immersing a pot with a rolled edge into the boiling water. Some authorities do not approve of this. Best to contact a local orthodox rabbi for guidance.
Also, Some authorities do not permit kashering plastic or other synthetic materials for Pesach; however, the opinion of the OU rabbis is that it may be kashered, if there is a need. Again, go ask for guidance with your local orthodox rabbi.
you need to do your due dilligence. Gangnam is only a neighborhood of Seoul, not a city. It's an upscale area that was made even more trendy after the video. But it is not a city.

I do not like it when the children of Conservative Jews become Orthodox Jews because it will make Conservative Judaism extinct. Why is nothing being done about it? I am sick and tired of Orthodox Jews telling me, for example "Wear a yarmulke, it's Shabbos"!! Orthodox Jews ought to mind their own business!! Save Conservative Judaism from extinction, for crying out loud!!
Great idea, but who is the ham (you should pardon the expression - Tam may get upset) with the crown on his head? Seriously funny stuff. And the ark is not open, and doing a Purim shpeil in the sanctuary is great. At least she wasn't in full Vashti costume (or lack thereof).
This was by far a great idea to reach all ages of children and others to understand a religious event and yet have fun with it!! Thanks for a wonderfully creative leadership group!!!!
