I fish below alot of dams in Oklahoma.... and I can't count the number of times the website or corps site is wrong.... or they just turn water on when ever....... The fish in my bio pic I caught below some tailwaters just as they turned water on and almost did not get back up river in my kayak. Thankfully I had a trolling motor.... I've also had water come up and almost sweep my yak away while walking on the bank.
@@RitchFishing I've been hitting up Kerr dam around 2 til 6 when water is generating. Good for hybrids. Morning is prime for top water when water isn't running. Might wanna check it out if you haven't already bro. And thanks for the info. Nice good fishing. 👍 🔥!
Were uby any chance down there about a month ago early morning up at the discharge, a big guy in a chair and a couple of kids on the point were tearing them up ?
Switch to bkk hooks set up as assist hooks like the savage gear grip trebles, I made the switch and I'll never go back I've got multiple 30+lb there at zink ,tenkiller and webber with them they stay pinned also the new Shimano armajoint in blue/silver has been slaying them
@@piesaturn6282 thanks for watching! Likely would, but I prefer to be safe rather than sorry. Reels typically are under greased and under oiled when coming from the factory so I prefer to do a little more than how it came from the factory.
Heading to Destin Thursday, never fished there. So I'm sure I'll be doing alot more watching then catching. But that's OK, maybe I'll learn something. Does anyone know what the name of that live bait cooler/bucket he was using? Thanks. Also ,what's best place to get live bait.
@@Rowen170 search “collapsible bait bucket” on Amazon. You’ll find it immediately. Half hitch is right there in town. But personally I used emerald coast bait and tackle if I have to get out before the sun because they open at 5am where as half hitch opens at 7 or 8 I believe. Emerald coast bait and tackle is in fort Walton
@@RitchFishing well, , i haven't fished from the jetties before so what are a few necessary necessities that I should have with me when I go? Example- fish grips/terminal tackle. Just don't want to get to fishing then not have something. Anyway, thanks for all the help.
I’m aware, you told me already 😂 old budget reels that had horrible drag that have since been replaced. I think those videos are my last ones with those reels before I upgraded.
@@thanhlai1559 you have to know when the water is coming down from keystone. It can be very unsafe if you don’t know how long it takes the water to get down from keystone because it can rise in a hurry
Nice. I just got a 4000PG Japanese model. It has a power handle. That's not why I bought it. But it's a bonus. It's the slowest ratio option. I think the higher speed ratio Japanese models also have a T type handle. But the 5000 also has a power handle. I will mainly use it for lure fishing for pike. I also got a 5000 size spool. As the 4000 and 5000 size reels have the same body. So you can switch spools. I think the same goes for the 2500 and 3000 sizes. It's that way with most Shimano reels. But there may be some exceptions. Loaded mine with eight strand Sunline Castaway in 50lb test. Ordered the lot from Japan. The FE is sold is the US and most or all of Europe. The Japanese models have different named models. E.g. PG instead of FE. But seem pretty much identical. Anyway I'm hoping mine will last. It won't see the salt. Which should help long-term. We shall see.
@RitchFishing picking up a 24 TWINPOWER C3000MHG. Thanks again, any recommendations for a rod? My.current set up is a Shimano vanford C3000 w/ 6"10 ML-Fast action zodias rod.
@@hazamasan9377 I’d like to get a Stella SW but I don’t see the point in the Stella FK when the Twinpower FE is around because the specs and tech are almost the same. Now when they come out with the Stella FL we’ll see hahah

It’s on the east side but it can be unsafe if you don’t know when to go and how to time it and how long it takes water to make it down there from keystone. Someone had to be rescued last week. If you want to safely access it without those worries then fish the west side.
@@Living.the.dream.outdoors it’s been pretty dead since the white water area has been added and if they’re running water in the white water area it can be a little sketchy to cross

Don’t know if you still fish the Tulsa area, but I’m from around here and would love some pointers on where and what to fish for striper/hybrids! You guiding? Lol
