Great job!! So proud to see these accomplishments. Thanks for sharing and for making these programs possible. Everyone deserves the opportunity of education and for many folks this is the first time it has been accessible for them. More programs like this will help us in our goal of rehabilitation and give people facing incarceration options other than reoffending when they rejoin society!
Sadly, I was rejected by the Augusta Fire Department...I went through the Fire Team at Johnson State Prison, when it was first reinstated in 2002. In 2003, I got my certification in Module One. Chief Stanley Garnto was my instructor. Went through Augusta Transitional Center and was turned down...my feelings towards AFD is mixed..
These buses are Blue Bird School Buses modified for correctional use. They could be replaced by medium duty Trucks designed from the ground up to transport inmates.
