Hi, I am a bike mechanic with over 10 years of experience and the owner of the bike shop Voltaire Cycles Verona, NJ. Welcome to my channel! You will find videos about E-bikes, trikes and E-conversions.
I wish I could find someone knowledgeable on repairing the iDrive. Under load, mine often slips out of gear. Three bike shops, plus tons of personal research and attempts, but no luck.
My dude had a fat tire bike on the first rack and was shacking the heck out of it with both arms. Shacking the bike itself then using an olympic weight lifting form to again shake it from the end with both arms, knees bent and putting his back into it. The used one hand with only wrist movement on the second rack with no bike on it 😅 seems a little skewed if you ask me.
lets see you do it without the clamp, with no table like most ppl, Also, didnt you boil the tire or microwave it, too soften it ? those tires are very difficult to do that with
Nice review. I just bought a Peak T7. It's my 2nd ebike. My 1st ebike was an Aventon Aventure.2. It was a good 1st bike, but if I had to do it over again I'd have bought the Level.2. I commute to work 5 days a week (30+ miles round trip). The Aventure.2 clanged, rattled and squealed. The fat tires and heavy over-all weight really ate up battery life. The Peak T7 is so smooth and quiet. I've only had it for a number of days and I love it. I don't plan on riding off-road so I bought street tires for it. I bought the rear rack, mounted the tail light to that and bought a Topeak bag with built-in panniers. It's a great bike.
Hi! I'm so excited to find this video! I'm a 70 year old female above knee amputee. I LOVE riding my trike but I can't load and unload it. Would you mind sharing info about the winch in this video? Thank you so much!
The geometry of the frame and forks is interesting - definitely more relaxed than even the Swiss bicycle. It should be extremely stable and comfortable. Nothing like today's bicycles, except for traditional Dutch and Danish bikes. I'm slightly surprised that the military bicycles are all fixed gear as they would benefit from a 3 speed hub gear. However it's just something else to go wrong, although the Sturmey Archer was incredibly reliable. Perhaps the other nations didn't have as reliable a hub gear and of course they wouldn't fit a non domestic model. Very interesting. I loved the tow hitch. All the best. 👍
I have one now that broke after warranty. Regardless, it cannot be repaired due to unavailable Chinese parts. Bintelli is only good until it breaks then off to the junkyard.
Mine came with solid rubber tires (HiBoy S2 Pro) and they are rock hard with hardly any flex at all. I'd like to replace them with honeycomb tires but they look like a pain to remove 😩.
I owned a 2001 GT iDrive 6.0 (same frame design, except for rear drop outs and it had a coil spring and basic Suntour forks as it was the entry level model at the time. I then managed to get hold of a preowned iDrive 4.0 , lighter and better specced than the iDrive 6.0.. I rode the GT iDrive 4.0 to work and back at least 4 days a week, did a lot of climbing and was great! The eccentric iDrive system worked as designed, but it was heavier than it needed to be. Still, I enjoyed my fours year's ownership of that bike.
Using just safety glasses is not enough you need to use a full face shield with the glasses to get real protection in this video you can see how particulet bounce off cheeks under glasses into eyes at a angel where you literally don't see it coming!
I currently have a 1945 dated one, but its missing the nut that holds the front mudguard to the top of the front fork/base of the steering. Do you happen to know what size nut it takes?
