@@kennethcovington1260 if you're wanting to rework your stock harness, go to lt1swap.com and follow his process. And then just going to have to Google wiring diagrams for the 240 and figure out what wires to keep and delete.
Some vehicles need a starter relay, some don't. I'm this case I'm swapping a chevy square body. It uses a heavy gauge wire from the ignition switch to the starter so no relay needed.
I have a 06 5.3 that I'm swapping into a 91 c1500. The sensor doesn't fit the adapter...it only fits with the adapter(up right/vertical) it previously it had on the 350..but it hits the fire wall. I need an a sensor like yours.(no second adapter needed)
@@y5mgisi on thank you. I'll go to the auto parts later on. Although it looks the same(sensor). Do you know the difference between the long sensors(old style) and the newer shorter style, other than the plug connection ? Internals?
I wired the same way but my ignition hots are staying hot when the key is off but only when I have the pcm plugged in if I unplug the pcm everything works as it should any idea what I’m missing 🤯 I traced the pinks and oranges back to the right spots on the pcm I can’t figure it out
Not sure. I'd disconnect one wire at a time at the ecm of the pinks and oranges and see which one makes it quit happening and go from there. The pinks should only be hot when the ignition relay is triggered by the key.
THANK YOU SIR, YOU ARE THE MAN! Im swapping an '04 6.0L into my '63 C10...I dont want the big ugly ECM inside the cab, I want to keep the factory wiring, but i dont want to use the big ugly yukon fuse block. Im going to use the mechanical fan that comes with the 6.0L at first, so i dont need extra relays for the fans. This explains things perfectly. Now maybe I will be able to sleep.
Let me see if I'm understanding this. I have a 99 firebird that originally came with the v6. Are you saying that I can get the adapter and then use the oil pressure sensor that came out of the 99 firebird and use that on my 5.3 that I'm putting in it?
Correct. Although your 99 might use the same oil pressure gauge ohms as the 5.3 and might be able to use the 5.3 oil pressure sensor. I swapped a 90 chevy pick up with an 03 chevy 5.3 and was able to just use the 03 oil pressure sensor to feed the 93 gauge.
@@y5mgisi the sensor on the 5.3 is a 3 wire connection. I believe the one on the 99 v6 is a two wire connection. I tried to use the 5.3 one, connecting two of the wires to where they pin into the PCM and using the 3rd wire to the gauge. It pegs the oil pressure to 100 and keeps it there.
The truck is a 2000 (obs crew cab, the last obs they made) the harness is from a 2003. I have the tcc wire from the obs and I have another tcc wire coming from the pcm. But I see a lot of people saying that the tcc should be connected to the brake switch been “on” when the brake pedal is not press and been off when the pedal is depressed.
Awesome video sir!! Basically I have my harness ready. But I’m stuck on where to hook/splice the grey wire for the fuel pump. Do I hooked/spliced to the grey wire on the fuel pump conector/harness? Tia
Mini spools tough on tires and if the cheaper mini spool fragments it's possible you could destroy your ring and pinion, RTS has a forged mini spool but it's 200.00 but might be worth it down the road.
Definitely an option. But man is it nice to have that socket around. Have used it many times since I bought it and have been happy to have it every time.
Ma’am, this was very helpful. Can you do a video on an old RPM gauge or maybe you have made already but I cannot find it we just did an LS swap now I figured out the oil gauge now I gotta figure out the rpm gauge also and the temperature gauge gauge
The link is for the one used in the video. It's for 1/8th npt sensors. If that's not what your sensor uses, it won't work. But most of the oil pressure sensors I have come across are 1/8th npt.
Yeah I was skeptical myself what gears fo you have? My grandfather had an 89 and said his got 18-19 with the tbi i was skeptical about that too but he was very honest and was a professional driver for many years what'd you get with the tbi?
I’ve been fighting this for a while now 96 s10s factory gauge using the tan wire from cluster to the single tan ls sensor won’t read accurately I recently done the adaptor like your video here but the gauge still reads about 20psi off There’s a certain resistance to make them accurate and I’ve not found it yet
@@y5mgisi i havent a maf end i put new headers end i haven't fit the 02 sensors..now i put a maf end o2 front sensors but i didnt run yet..can you help??i think is on limp mode?
Yes. I wouldn't have known what to do without seeing it on an episode of roadkill. You have to grind the blocks to fit. It's because it's a somewhat "universal" unit that fits many rear ends.
