Trimble SiteVision is a pioneering outdoor augmented reality system that enables users to easily understand complex information such as new designs, existing underground services, and how future landscapes will look over time, without the need to interpret drawings or maps.

The information is presented in an easily understandable augmented reality view, which can be reviewed from any angle or position on-site with centimeter-accuracy

Are you only using satellites or do you have a base station? What phones do you think work the best?

SiteVision utilizes the Trimble Catalyst technology that supports a wide range of correction types - this could be a single base station via IP, or more typically a VRS network that provides a 'virtual' base station. For remote locations SiteVision also supports Trimble RTX which can deliver offline corrections via satellite. For the scanning workflows showcased in this video you will require a LiDAR equipped iPhone Pro or iPad Pro.

I recommend quadlock mount instead of magnetic mounts. It is rugged, more secure and cheaper too.

how is its accuracy may I ask? will it get drift or scale problem as usual when scanning with Iphone ?

Great question! Thanks to the integrated DA2 GNSS receiver we have a very accurate (cm) position. This eliminates drift and scale issues for scans over a wide area.

@@trimblesitevision1026 Thanks. It looks very interesting to me. Can we running Trimble R12i with Trimble Site Vision ? As we already had Trimble R12i, also with better GPS receiver and IMU we may have better result.

@@nvtcuong8173 SiteVision only supports the Trimble Catalyst DA2 GNSS receiver, so you won't be able to use your R12i. While the DA2 is certainly not in the same league as the R12i it is still an incredibly high performance receiver.

With the latest Trimble Catalyst DA2 GNSS receiver you can expect 2-5cm horizontal accuracy in most parts of the world.

If you don't want to use Automatic Placement you can use our other two placement methods: Manual or Measured. Manual Placement does not use high accuracy GNSS, and placement is by using gestures on the screen and the augmented reality technology on your mobile device. Note: You will likely experience model drift, and your placement will be valid for only that session of SiteVision (not remembered in future). Here is a video explaining that process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qu_O3Nk6xPQ.html Measured Placement requires high accuracy GNSS, and walks you through steps for completing your own two point calibration, to position a model on site. You can use the SiteVision Integrated Positioning System standalone, or on a pole mount. This information is recorded and remembered for the next time you open the model to view with SiteVision.
