This seems a lot easier to perform than in Resolve for example but to really master the effect and deliver true Rostrum Camera quality, variable speed and 'ease-in/ease-out' options need to be implemented. The 'Ken Burns effect' is done to death in digital editing and like slow motion and drone footage, it stands the chance of becoming 'ho-hum'. If we are going to employ the effect, then subtlety is the key! Perhaps variable splines could be incorporated into the keyframe graphs?
Hey there! This was done on Windows using the latest version. Just wanted to let you know that the Zoom effect is in the newer versions of Lightworks. I'd recommend updating via the website. However, if you prefer using an older version, no worries! You can still achieve the same results by using the Transform effect or the 3D DVE depending on your version, same principles with the key frames. Hope that helps!
This dude is quite special. I remember from the first part he mentioned that he would go through 'every' recording to seek-find the best clip or part of a clip for final editing and production. Serious dedication. I like the fact that he gets his crew in at the end of a working day to ask how they are doing and to critique his work. Brilliant interview.
Wouldn’t you have been better using the arrow keys to jump to the start of the new clips and then adding the keyframes there? Or did you deliberately screw up so you could show how to fix it …
Thank you for this comment! I purposely shifted the conversation to talk about the keyframe menu because I think it's a more important concept to grasp when working with keyframes, but that is definitely the best way to do it!
Hi Chris is it possible to animate images, say give the appearance of sliding left/right or zooming in/out? not meaning transitions tho. Oh just noticed the guy below asked basically the same question and even gave it a name.

I love lightworks! I bought pro for a 1 time purchase and since then have never regretted it! It is so worth is and recommend it for people new to video editing!
Something that I Love of lwks is this, I use more my keyboard than my mouse is faster en easer, I even have a macro for cuting the tail and the start of a clip, fortunate that I have a lwks keyboard
i tried to to add some text commentary to a 90sek 1080p clip, even though i exported as 720p it tripled my filesize and as a free user at least i have no option to increase compression, which is incredibly annoying
